Agree that Port won't win the flag, we still have a lot to prove, but if only w/l count and not the performance.

Also interesting that you have to qualify the wins (4 of those wins away from home incl China which everyone insists was a Suns home game lol), and don't qualify the losses.

GWS (away) led at 3qt time.
Adelaide . Within a goal with 5min to go, at a time when Adelaide were nigh on unbeatable.
Geelong (away) . Led much of the last qtr and commonly accepted that umpiring cost us the game.
W Coast . Within a goal halfway through the last, dominated the game and should have won.

Depends on who the Crows play in their home final(s). Could easily lose to Port or Geelong IMO. And we've seen Melbourne beat them there already.
I really feel like both SA teams will be in it come the prelims though.

Geelong struggled at home against a Fremantle team who were missing Fyfe, Sandilands and Alex Pearce. Op top of that Fremantle had five players with less then 10 games experience and almost won. Geelong are not are not in the same ball park as Adelaide and Western Sydney.

When was the last time a Geelong player who wasn't named Dangerfield or Selwood got best on ground by the coaches?

And Adelaide lost to your side at home - a 17th placed team with a bunch of youngsters who Geelong beat by 86 points. Not sure why Geelong cops criticism for eeking out a win but the Crows avoid it despite losing to an even worse team.

Every team this season has major flaws:

GWS probably has the least and should be favourites. Injuries are the main thing holding them back.

Crows have been blown out of the water by North, Melbourne and Geelong (I don't think I'm being too one eyed in saying the margin flattered them against us, and they've lost their last 4 without getting close). The best teams are rarely if ever uncompeditive like the Crows can be.

Geelong continue to struggle against middle tier teams, but are 4-1 against top 8 teams.

Port are 0-4 against top 8 teams.

Melbourne have only shown consistency in the last 4 weeks, which is the first time they've managed it in a positive sense for over a decade.

Richmond are Richmond and shouldn't be this high.

West Coast are awful outside of Perth.

St Kilda knocked off the Giants but have been poor against every other team of note.

The Dogs are 1-5 against the top 8, the win being against Richmond.

Sydney have probably the toughest run home with little margin for error due to their early losses.

Essendon have a massive gap between their best and worst, and like Melbourne have struggled for consistency both this season and in the past.

The rest aren't contenders even if they sneak into the 8.

GWS is the best team in it, and have several players nearly ready to retake their spots. The last time I saw a winning team with that type of injury toll which then righted itself just in time for the finals was us in 2014. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge their superiority at this point is kidding themselves - your team will be the underdog when facing these guys, make no mistake...

I fully expect Adelaide to find their missing testicles before next weekend and win every game for the rest of the season by an average of ten goals...they can make all sorts of excuses about travelling to Geelong or Hobart, but losing to us at home like that...that's gotta hurt. If it didn't hurt when Melbourne did it, it will now. A very good team whose wobbly run lately is just the footy gods messing with the minds of punters and the TAB. Ok, maybe not ten goals...

They're the two. I haven't been convinced about Geelong in either of the last two seasons, and for me they are too dependant on Dangerfield and Selwood to change that. Having said that, those two could win them the flag! Port could go anywhere...you can't base a flag prediction on that! Footscray will underline the exceptional effort of 2016 by being unable to back it up. WC are album filler. Sydney is a great story for people who are easily amused. Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon and St Kilda are fighting for the honour of accidentally double-booking their end of season trips with token finals appearances...

Everyone else sucks. Yeah, I know...us too...

To be honest, we've been fairly consistent since the Geelong game.

Only lost to Richmond by 15, GWS away by 16 and Sydney away by 1 point.

We'll get better as the season goes on, especially with our remaining fixture

Been a while since Port beat a top 8 side.
A long long while.

Can't argue with that another thing that bothers me is we don't play Adelaide Oval that well I have more confidence when we play away half the time.. all that aside we are still very wasteful inside 50, the backs and team defence have been the highlight this year and I do like the big body midfield we've assembled.

Plenty to work on & yes need a few top 8 scalps before I'm convinced
