Whitfield looks every bit the best half back in the league at the moment.
He looks like being the best in quite in a while tbh.

Most of us Tiger fans have been saying this all year, if not earlier.Shane Edwards
I wasn't using CD as justification for Sheds being Elite, I was saying that they had done so for years and most didn't believe it to be the caseMajak Daw is the fourth best KPD in the league this year according to those same ratings.....
Elite kick, that's about it. Looong way to go.Yeo if he wasn't already there after last year.
From the Tigers i think Short is creeping up on it. Leads the comp in meters gained i think.
All i'd say it that he's already been at the elite level for many years.Robbie Gray
IMO - Elite means top 2% in the comp so that is 14 players.
Because arbitrary numbers made up by a random should be applied by everyone. Why 2% and not, say 5%?
In the end it's splitting hairs. They are both very good players. However 5 possessions average is a big differential between players who play the same position/role.Have to be one of the biggest urban myths of the season. Grundy has had a terrific year to be sure but Gawn is next level. Gawn averages more hit outs, more contested marks, kicked more goals, more score involvements and more intercepts per game and does it with less time on ground. Grundy has more tackles and more handballs. The argument that Grundy is 'better around the ground' seems to be based on the fact he averages 5 more possessions a game than Gawn - all of which are handballs.
Gawn is the consensus choice of the coaches and will be the AA ruckman. Grundy is fantastic and a worthy second best and has done enough for a spot on the bench.
Why 2% and not, say 5%?
B.Grundy aka the 2018 Brownlow Medallist.
Could say the same for you...You seem upset. Bad weekend?
In what universe is Polec elite? He is a soft outside receiver that has had a couple of good games this year but goes missing far too often. Don't confuse elite and the potential to be elite. Polec's got the natural talent but is nowhere near elite territory.
Has been elite for years, so cant meet the thread criteria.Rory Laird has been a solid performer for the Crows.
From the Blues: Simpson, Kreuzer, Cripps, Murphy, MAYBE Curnow.
Of the 800 or so players in the League, how many can be classified as 'elite'? I think this discussion has happened before, but I would think the top 5%, so maybe 40?
Are there exactly 800 players in the league? No, not maybe .. %5 of 800 is 40
