Move up to get Rankine if possible, if not then maybe get someone like McAdam later in the draft? I can’t see too many who’ll be available that are already on lists

If Stengle goes, Bolton will stay
McAdam has been interviewed by gold Coast, looks like they'll have 1st access to mature agers via the AFL

With the addition of fit B.Crouch & Smith, I personally feel like that’s enough for immediate needs.
That said ....when we lost Brad this year, it did expose our midfield depth .....IF we run Milera thru the midfield, with Gallucci and Poholke ...then you're probably right

You'd think Rankine could play next year .....here's hoping with fingers crossed

Smalls with the talent to go top 5 usually do. Being head of the pack all year for their final two years of junior football usually leaves them more mentally ready than others, and attracts the best managers with the best fitness, diet, and strength & conditioning specialists on retainer to make them physically ready.

A cascading effect where being the best makes it easier to be better.

If we are seriously contemplating packaging 2-3 first round picks to get lukosius I would much rather offer them to collingwood for Grundy. God I hope we are in his mangers ear with a mobster offer when he’s out of contract

Grundy will play out his career at the Maggies.
No chance he comes back.

I can understand that .....and whilst he's a different cat, he seems to have matured & settled

So what's your confidence level in Pruess & Stengle ? .....you still get some good oil?

Pruess I heard had agreed to come to us 2months ago.
Then the Vic media started with MFC rumors but not sure if true.
Stengle would be a Betts replacement but I hadn't heard anything bout him agreeing to come to us.

So where we at? Gov for Himmelberg in an essentially direct swap given we wont lose or get any draft picks.
Stengle for a pick similar to Harrison Wigg, third round somewhere, which we need to get, 37 too low, 69 probably too high - maybe for CEY or Otten.
Preuss for 37.

Leaves us with 8,15, 19 and 69 for the draft. Either package 8 and 15 to get Lukosius and take 19 and 69 to the draft or keep all the picks and go to draft, maybe get rozee or hately at 8. Not sure who we'd get at 15 and 19 but I bet they'd be good gets. I don't think we're after Rankine if we're getting Stengle.

I feel we might do some interesting stuff with rookies this year. I reckon we're due two more cat B gems, plus some other interesting players.

I'd be stoked to get Preuss, I rated the games he played at North
He'll turn 24 mid-season next year too which is around the time ruckmen start to hit their straps. Him for 30 is a deal I'd do in a heartbeat.

I don't want the club to do anything that will get us another salary cap breach penalty, but if Rob Gerrard buys Brodie Grundy a luxury home in the suburb of his choice and a holiday home maybe throw in some nice cars to get him over to the AFC i'd appreciate it:).
Or is a go fund me by random supporters counted as salary cap?:)
How good we would with Grundy as our ruckman?
That's for sturt to say

Given the loss of Lynch and potentially May, not sure he is the type of mature ager they should be targeting? Surely a big bodied KPP who can play immediately is a priority?

Gov a direct swap for H. Himmelberg? Have I missed something?

No it's not. We have cap space. Polec was affordable and the club doesn't think he or Wingard should get a blank cheque. The Crows have traditionally been known to be tighter and more even with salary, how is this any different?

How's that irresponsible?

It’s not irresponsible.

However the two other aspects to bear in mind is the money you’ve spent elsewhere, and whether you have judged their worth correctly

These are 2 of your best players, not some scrub overrating himself
