Lol the aud is crashing. Our housing market is on the brink.

AUD and GBR will probably fall at same rate. Ours going down also because US rates going up. Ours going down if anything.

She’s ****** either way, holding another referendum will be seen as betraying the first.

Common sense says to do it, but that’ll be the political perspective.

The Tories fear a Corbyn govt more than anything.

A second referendum and "betrayal" is only slightly less awful.

It's right there in the title - 'written'. Brittan does have a Constitution, it's just that it's a different kind to Australia or the USA.

No, it has no constitution.

As I said, lots of various things add to act like one, but it does not have one.

You take shelter under a pile of boards and tiles. They aren't a house though.

She is ****. Cameron did the right thing and quit. She should too. But she wont cos she is selfish and will try to keep power even if it means burning the country down.

May's cricket hero is Boycott which explains so much, a lover of Compton or Gower wouldn't have allowed this s**t show.

Who the * have Geoff bloody Boycott as a hero? Boring as s**t cricketer, who then transcended that behind the mike

On the constitution, there's been a big ******* con by Leave nuts that it's about the people and Parliament taking back control. It's crap. The powers are going to the executive.

You mean elected UK politicians rather than faceless EU bureaucrats.

Would you be happy for China and Japan to be responsible for a decent chunk of Australian law?

It's a constitution, and it's written. It functions 'like a constitution' because it's a constitution.

Unlike most modern states, Britain does not have a codified constitution but an unwritten one formed of Acts of Parliament, court judgments and conventions. Professor Robert Blackburn explains this system, including Magna Carta’s place within it, and asks whether the UK should now have a written constitution.

This is something oft-repeated, but it is plainly true that the British constitution is written.

Codified in a single document =/= written. Is the Magna Carta not written? Is the Bill of Rights not written? Is the Habeas Corpus Act not written? These are all parts of the British constitution.

I remember hearing a story that Boycott was batting so slowly in a game once that someone was sent in with the specific task of running him out, despite the fact that he was captain. Seems apt for some reason

I think the argument is that its not written as a single doc rather than as a collection of various things.

NB as for Habeus Corpus, Tony Blair wasnt too concerned about that (though eventually his indefinite detention got struck down)
