Jed Anderson ready to fire

Jed Anderson is set to make his long-awaited AFL return on Saturday night against Adelaide, having overcome a hamstring injury.

The 25-year-old played in the VFL over the weekend, getting through three quarters unscathed to push his case for a call-up.

“We’re very happy to have Jed Anderson back this week, and barring mishap at training he’ll come back in,” North coach Brad Scott said on Wednesday.

“There’ll be a few other guys in our squad that we may make some further change as well.

“That’s one of the positives if things aren’t working perfectly for us at the moment - we certainly do have options.”

Scott said Mason Wood and Sam Wright could also be in the mix to take on the Crows, as the Roos work to find the right mix.

"It's probably taken a little bit longer for us to jell as a team than I anticipated," he said.

"Bringing in seven or so players … I thought that we could bring them together a little bit quicker than we have, so I've still got, in conjunction with our coaches, some work to do on that

"The reality is 0-3 is not ideal – far from – so we've handicapped ourselves so far this season.

"But we feel like when we focus on the facts of our game and the areas that we know we can do better, we think we're more capable than our results are showing.

"But even in-game, we put ourselves in two winning positions and we've been really disappointed we've let both Brisbane and Hawthorn off the hook."

i really love the way he introduces the idea that Luke could be dropped. He's not saying outwardly that he should, or claiming they will, but makes sure it's there. It IS actually a possibility.

Yep, loving McGowan's work so far. A great successor to Nick Bowen.

No offence to Tyson, but with Jed back, I can't see why we'd keep him in.
I can't either.

Don't be surprised if Wrighty comes in and none of Jmac, Luke or Pittard make way either.

Agreed, although Jack was probably the worst mid last week in the centre square.

He should be nowhere near the midfield. Add to the list of completely insane moves made by the coaching group.

strong starts the past fortnight to sit 0-3, which Scott admitted was "not ideal", ahead of a must-win clash with Adelaide on Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
Must win game haha, not according to one our leadership group.

LOL @ the "cautious approach" to injuries bullshit in the presser, Marley Williams anyone.

I'll give it that its not as chaotic as Brown being in the ruck, as Mason Wood does nothing and provides zero foil for Brown when forward and Campbell is serviceable as a secondary ruck.

But it's not enough, are we seriously persisting with this idea when we could've done this last year with Preuss and we're STILL going to ignore the form of Larkey?

It hasn't worked for 2 weeks, our forward line has been the worst in terms of tactical success.
