Unofficial Preview Changes and discussion Round 15 v the Demons.

Already being discussed in the review thread, I can see 2 obvious changes that would immediately make us better IMO and 1 possible.

Outs- Jacob Allison, Ryan Lester./ ??Rhys Matheison.

Ins- Zac Bailey, Jarrod Berry./ ??Tom Berry.

If Jarrod is not quite ready I'd bring in Tom Berry for his debut and leave Matho in the side.

Fages has a track record of liitle or no changes to a winning formula.

Having said that, I thought Allison was pretty ordinary and was guilty of some pretty poor handpasses that put team mates under pressure.

If either Berry or Bailey are fit , one should come in for Allison.

If not, maybe Squizzy or even Cutts.

Long term I think Cedric Cox can play that wing role, really good today but coming back off some interrupted footy he'd need to do it for a few more weeks to earn a senior gig.

Give Bailey another week in the 2s, Matho on his last chance and Squizzy not an automatic selection despite the Hawthorn game.

If you were looking at someone to replace based on today those who didn't contribute a lot were Allison ,Matho, Lester and Answerth. Cam improved to get himself out of the bottom clump.

If Berry is fit he's an automatic in . I don't think Allison is up to it at all on today's performance . We're desperate for someone to play the Matho role who gets more of it . Do we have anyone better ? Robertson and Lester are line/ball . You'd love more run out of defence so we really need to get Bailey and Starcevich up and going. Taylor maybe lost his spot to Bundy today but I'd still try to find a slot for him somewhere just to give us some extra zip around the stoppages.

I thought Mathieson was pretty good today. He neutralized a few dangerous situations with his bullocking style and generally worked hard around the contest.

Shame about Matho, still got high hopes for him, but he needs a bit more developing. Needs to up his possession count.
Lester isn't bad but so slow. Don't know if we can have Hodge and Lester in the same side in the same area of play.

It's a shame hodgey is retiring at the end of the season as it would have been cool to have him in the NEAFL as a playing coach for the developing kids at some stage.

In terms of our defence matching up against the D's, they play 2 talls in Weideman (195)and McDonald (194) so Gardner/Andrews can cover them.

As long as their players believe it and ours don't it's all good! Actually I would rather our guys go in expecting to have to work for it (eg vs Saints) than thinking it is a given (eg vs Carlton) ... a thought I hope has been burned out of their collective cortexes!
