Postive new agaioin I see.
By the way before you and you friends continue I have spoken to Nicks since he became the Crows Coach,

So yea I live in the land of mary Poppins.
I don't give a shit if you've spoken to Nicks. That has nothing to do with it.

This is all about the clubs bullshitting its members again and the normal stooges who buy it and then whinge when we call the club out.

Oh and that positive thread is on page 116, thats how much interest there is in it. Bump away.

Absolute classic, for all those who think this was a Nicks decision based him not wanting one, need to listen to his presser today.

"Not about making a poor decision"
"Right person"
"Doesnt mean we wont have one in 12 months time"

He has basically said he didnt want one for the sake of it, but will take time over next 12 months to find a suitable one.

So much for "less voice"

When will some of our supporters learn, if ever? When the next situation arises I hope you refer back to this and when we call it out, just shut up.
I'm not sure it does mean we will find one in 12 months. I suspect if the coaching group go alright we won't bother at all.

Member's voting rights. That will lead to a board of 10 ******* ex-players. Not sure it's a good idea.

10 ex players would have done a better job than the AFC board bozos have done over the last 15 years.

10 monkeys using a magic 8 ball for decision making would have done a better job than the AFC board bozos over the last 15 years.

If only the club had good media messaging. They could have outlined this in a positive light and told the truth at the same time
No they couldn’t, it would mean admitting incompetence.

Why did you pass on a senior assistant this year?

Well, because it was too late to find anyone, as we sat on our hands for months before engaging in the review that we didn’t think we needed, then we had to replace people that we didn’t think we had to fire.

"The timing of the review allowed us to get a complete picture of our AFL season before embarking on a thorough examination of our football department. Undergoing such a complex review process is time consuming; the fact it took many weeks to complete is evidence of that. Completing that process in a shorter time would have compromised the thoroughness we were aiming for"

"As for it being too late, I don't think it was too late, we wanted to wait until the season was complete to not distract players or coaches who were key parts of the review process. This allowed us to gain a greater understanding of areas we needed to improve on, with all members of the football department being able to reflect upon the weeks prior. Distractions wouldn't have helped our team which was still in contention to play finals in the last home and away rounds"

"Once our thorough review was complete and we identified the need for change in our coaching team, we chose not to renew Scott's contract and went about a wide ranging search for a replacement senior assistant. There were no standout candidates so we decided that rather than filling that spot with someone not fit for the role, we would reassess the situation at the conclusion of the 2020 season"

It is absolutely possible to spin anything however you want to.

They could have even said something like this

"Given we were still in finals contention in the closing rounds of the 2019 home and away season, I think it's unfair to say we left the review too late. However, we heard the overwhelming feedback from our membership base through social media and email, and decided that a review process was appropriate. We listen to all feedback about our club through various channels and want to thank supporters for their passion towards the club. Could we have initiated a review earlier? Possibly. It also might have been a distraction for our football department that were pushing for a finals berth, so the timing of these processes is a complex situation. However we are pleased with the feedback we received as part of our thorough review process and look forward to implementing the recommendations across the 2020 season"

Our season was cooked ages before the end, and the club hasn't been right for two years.

You're just saying that you want the clubs bullshit to be more believable. Its still bullshit.

I don't expect them to come out and say "we completely shit the bed on this one, we ****ed up massively, here's all the things we ****ed up". I also don't expect them to admit they changed their mind at the 11th hour after massive public backlash.

But there's a reasonable middle ground and the club isn't taking it. Instead, they are spinning obvious bullshit that quickly gets backtracked or changed.

All I want is the club to not treat me as an idiot in their messaging. Plausible explanations grounded in truth that make logical sense. Consistent, reasonable messaging that acknowledges member concerns genuinely and vows to address them.

It's not hard.

News for you Sunshine... I am very happy in my "nowhere". 58 years old. Good job. Great family. Awesome friends. Beautiful home. Love life. Love my footy team - warts and all. Or are you meaning the place where you and your misery guts mates are? That place?

This summarises fairly accuratley why you continue to swallow the poo the club serves up on a plate.

We were still top 4 as the bye came around... after we totally changed.

Almost feels like something happened in the bye to deflate the players. If i recall we beat gws and tigers before the bye.

The club continues to treat supporters like they are morons.

"No lingering issues" - then fires several staff members
"Burton is an elite football manager" - sacked weeks later
"Managed" then "hamstring awareness" - genuine hamstring injury with player out for months
"We'll tell you about Tippett in due course" - never happens
"Richard Douglas has retired" - wants to play on though
"The fixture is a great outcome for the club" - fans everywhere complain about scheduling and matchups
"Nicks has chosen not have a senior assistant" - but we will look again in 2020 and we said earlier we were after a senior assistant

Do they expect us to actually believe anything they say at this point?
Who is at fault?

Shuttleworth?

Who is at fault?

Shuttleworth?
This is a whole other discussion

Is it Shuttleworth or is he ''hamstrung'' by those above?

But given the consistency of the messaging - poor or otherwise- I suggest it is Shuttleworths style

I'm pleased for Andy. I think he'll do well at the Hawks, and he's going back to about 1km from where he played as a junior.
He's playing where I hit a giant 6 as a 12yo. I hope he feels privileged. Ended up bouncing into the shell servo across the road.

This is where my cricket career peaked.

The AGM should be rocking next year

Q: Was Scott Camporeale given a new contract in the review period? If so why

Q: What were the total payout figures for those staff that left? Did this impact our decision making going forward?

Q: Why the hell are you still Chairing this meeting?

Q: Why didn't I receive the "SACKCHAPMAN" drink bottle I ordered as part of my membership package?

This summarises fairly accuratley why you continue to swallow the poo the club serves up on a plate.

It takes a particular something to brag about loving the 'warts', rather than- you know- not having the warts and actually trying to be a success.

It staggers me that people can’t see this. The club lies all the time as it tries to spin itself out of trouble. Now they’ve decided to buy it again?

If anyone thinks “less voices” wasn’t conceived by Shutts or management they are truly deluded.

I think they wanted one, the one they already had. Same as Footy Manager, they believed that we already had the best. Even Pyke negotiating his out and using the language that he did, didn’t result in Chappo/Rooo reconsidering their complete and utter support for Burto/Campo. I think it’s more likely that Pyke’s departure, despite his language. emboldenned Chappo and Rooo. They would have thought that they had the appropriate escape goat. Actually, they are so far removed from reality that they wouldn’t have even realised that they needed a plank walker.

But, we all know that we were very late to the recruitment party. I’d prefer we go without for any role ahead of settling for the best of what’s available. We don’t need a Senior Assistant, we only need one of the top few Senior Assistants in the league. If we can’t get that person, then our existent coaching group live or die in terms of their value.

Seriously, we’re not even 1 down. Godden came in and Campo was elevated to his new gig. All we’ve lost is Campo from his ‘strategy’ role. Even though our midfield strategy hadn’t changed for a decade. And worse, Pyke loved this numbnuts. Anyway, we’re miles ahead of last year because we’ve not got;

Neil Craig mk11
Campo pure failure
Burto

We’ll never be a successful club until Chappo goes, but our coaching changes are immensively positive. How long have numerous posters been suggesting Campo is a problem? 3 years, 4 years? Either way, we nailed it.

"Look, we looked around, and all the candidates who were available were a bit shit, so we decided to just roll with nobody."

Bang! Nicks will be assessing his existing crew and it will definitely be known in the industry that there’s high paying gigs available. I expect that we’ll have a highly regarded crew as we roll into 2021. We were too late for 2020.

Well, because it was too late to find anyone, as we sat on our hands for months before engaging in the review that we didn’t think we needed, then we had to replace people that we didn’t think we had to fire.

Yeah, unfortunately Roo and Chapman have to keep going with the BS, because unfortunately if they do anything but, it will very quickly become clear to all that they, and the board as a whole, have failed miserably and been utterly negligent in their duty to oversee the running of our football club.

The very fact that it required an external review to highlight that key, high ranking members of the football department needed to go, suggests that they had lost all objectivity and were incapable of seeing what was actually going on.

We will never truly know close to the ins and outs, the wheres and why fors, but ultimately the end results speak for themselves. This board, led by Chapman and Roo has failed and to go on as currently they are is untenable.

If we had a half decent media in Adelaide, this would have been laid bare, but as it is, the media are effectively owned by our club, or just largely incompetent.

Here's what the club should have said:

"Since the departure of Scott Camporeale, we have conducted a far reaching search for the best candidate to fill our senior assistant position. However, after assessing the pool of options, we felt that no available candidate was suitable for the role.

We will reassess the situation at the conclusion of the 2020 season, and in keeping with our promise to supporters to have the best football department, we will be on the hunt for an outstanding candidate that fits the requirements of the role. In the meantime, as was the case in our 2017 season, we will return to a coaching structure that does not feature a senior assistant role.

Senior coach Matthew Nicks has full trust in our experienced assistant coaching group, which includes premiership coaches and players. Together with Nicks, our assistants will work towards a refreshed gameplan, team first approach and development of our young squad.

Nicks said "I'm excited to work with our coaching group to put us on the right track for 2020 and beyond. The group is relishing the increased responsibility and I think we'll see some great ideas flourish as a result"

CEO Andrew Fagan also discussed the realities of the modern AFL landscape, which includes a cap on football department spending.

"We are comitted to spending 100% of the football department cap, so it doesn't make much sense to fill the senior assistant role and spend money on someone we felt wasn't appropriate."

"We are constantly evaluating all positions in our football department and we felt, given the available candidates, that our cap space was better utilized in strengthening other areas. This includes the appointment of a new Head of Culture. We'll reassess that come the end of 2020 if a standout candidate becomes available," Fagan said"

This is a hell of a lot better than the Club's stance - why do they insist on turning simple things into bullshit?
