I think we works harder then anyone. Does all the defensive stuff and wins enough of the ball. I just think if we are a finals side his ball use is not good enough and he makes to many poor decisions. Dow isn’t the best at these either but I’m hoping he cleans it up to become the Dangerfield type we need to take us to the next level...
It's not either Dow or newnes. They play completely desperate positions and games.

Imo if Dow fixes up his decision making and foot skills on the run he's our replacement for Murphy

Carlton FC (carltonfc) Tweeted: So good, even Crippa had to watch it again. 😅 Here are the last two minutes from last night's game. #OwnTheFuture

Also I’m sorry for being critical of Walsh earlier this year, what a gun

Walsh has gotten better and better this year. Just a shame he couldn't have nailed that second goal in the 3rd qtr.

I can honestly understand the Freo fans saltiness and angst, it's the ones from neural supporting whingers (esp Essendope and Hawthorn fans) that are giving me immense satisfaction and even more joy in our win.

Newnes you beauty !

I read the 1st page on their forum. Surprisingly gracious mostly. Impressive.

EGold Coast and then Scum.. if we can sort a few things out. We can still mount a case for finals footy

And we get an extra 2 day break than the Suns. We'd have to feel pretty confident taking them on up in Darwin.

Was there last night with my boy who also bleeds blue. Literally still can’t believe what happened. What a night, what an experience, what a range of emotions.

Was utterly devastated, thought there was no chance of kicking the goal. Could barely watch but then I saw the boys reaction and realised it was going through. Well absolute euphoria took over. Can’t even remember exactly what I did after that but it did involve running down the aisle screaming gods knows what.

With where we have come from, what we’ve endured and the reaming we have received from the umps this year, we bloody deserve that. We being the entire club and it’s members and supporters.

It is a strange, weird season (and year). Let’s enjoy this and hope it leads to more wins.

Happy they included the trainers in the after match song.
Not easy for those types to be so far from home and not being able to get out of circle of same people and be with family and friends. Any joy the players and staff can give each other and share going to do them all some good mentally and emotionally in this very strange year for everyone.
Pretty sure the entire group has done it tough in WA. Mention of multiple hub changes etc. nice to see the solidarity and inclusion.
Expecting a spike in performance from here. The family members reunite back in Qld. Little Eddie going back to his "tribe" will be a thing of beauty.
Teaguey just needs to be mindful of rotations and preparedness. Reasonable break to Suns game in Darwin, but assuming relocation to Qld and a
flying visit to the NT. We need to flip a few magnets in all upcoming games. Eddie needs a blow, but won't miss the coming "Dreamtime" round,
Martin will be racing time to get up and unlikely.

Expecting the next month to "make" this group, No greed or false loyalty in selections. ie TDK stays in for this one then combative Pitto annoys the
**** out of Grundy V Maggies, TDK back to jump over Jacobs or Mummy, then who knows? Maybe Kreuzer will be ready to enter rotations. Levi
will need a blow at least once. We have a group of small/medium forwards to rotate through and the blooding of Cottrell means the defenders can
sit out a rotation. Marchy coming back gives Jones or Weiters the opportunity to sit out if needed with Sydney or Collingwood prime candidates with smaller forward lines. No player should be deemed indispensable during this period.

Our boys never gave up, that’s the most pleasing part. As they say, the harder you work, the luckier you get! We’ve got so much improvement left in us. We really should have taken our chances earlier and not been in that position.
Gotta say if I was a Freo fan I’d be bleeding about it. To get both of those decisions go our way and then witness at least a 1 in 20 chance at goal after the siren. For all the flaky decisions that haven’t gone our way in games, including this one, I’ll take this. It’s great to be a Blue Bagger.

I recall the season where Sticks kicked it OOF after the siren to lose the match against *, and then the very next week Sticks again had a shot after the siren to win against Hawthorn. Would have been around then too.

That kick against Hawthorn wasn't after the siren. It was just very late in the final qtr.

We should've won the game but not with Newnes' last kick.

Umpiring was pretty bad both ways so nobody can really complain about the nature of the free kick - It's the first time I've seen this season a dubious call go Carlton's way anyway.

Glad we walked away with the 4 points - 5W 6L is about where I saw us at the start of the year. Lets iron out those lapses and polish, finish strong and mount for a finals push next year.
