Season 30 Round 11: Sin City Swamprats v Dragons FFC at Underground Stadium (MOTR)
OVERVIEW
The surviving citizens of Panem , buoyed by their recent victory and determined to commemorate their fallen friends, have arranged a series of exhibition games. The grain specialists of District 9 (Swamprats) are hosting the livestock and meatloving Dragons from neighbouring District 10 in a vegan v. carnivore clash worthy of Match Of The Round.
LAST TIME THEY MET
In a matchup between the last 2 premiers, reigning champions District 9 were determined to shake off their premiership hangover and unconvincing 1-2 start against their rivals from District 10. Initially they handled favourable warm conditions poorly and were 20 points down at quarter time. Their coach gave the troops a loud spray and quarter time and it worked- they piled on 5 goals to two to take a slim 1 point lead at half time. Suddenly District 9 had found a new gear and continued the momentum in the third quarter, taking a comfortable 3 goal advantage at three quarter time. Ultimately the ageing District 10 could not come close to matching their opponents' fitness and class as District 9 piled on 6 goals to 1 in the final quarter en route to a 50 point thumping, thereby sending a message to the competition about the benefits of a grain-based, Vegan diet.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Current league DT point and leading tackler Panlo will be hungry for more vegan based sustenance and looking to reclaim top spot in the Exie rankings after an even contest with I Dont Care last week. His Vegan VC Sheaf is due for a bag and will relish the supply. We can also expect their District 9 teammate MannumPower to give away enoughgrain free kicks to maintain top spot in that statistic.
District 10 will be relying on Dalton (4th in marks) continuing his impressive marking form , Brandy (5th in tackles) to maximise his protein intake and continue to rise in the Tackles rankings. On the other end of the spectrum, will veteran Tanner (8 disposals season) continue to live up to his name and amass few disposals despite competition from unseasoned teammate SaltPeter (5 disposals for the season) ?
PREDICTION
District 9 by 9 points in a triumph of Veganism
Leadership Groups, please have a valid team sheet submitted before the Reaping deadline of 11:59pm AEDT this Thursday
May the odds be ever in your favour
