NOrmally i'd be keen to see picks "upgraded" - but with this year being strange given the lack of displayed talent - getting picks in the 1st round isn't as essential - nor is losing our pick 10 to Geelong.

3 battery of picks from 25-40 would sufficient if we could arrange it - just as likely to get talent there as picks 10-15 IMO

As posted earlier if we could land 22 from Swans and 24 and 33 from the Suns we would have a very flexible draft hand to play with.

Having 22, 24, 30 and 33 IMO would be fantastic with only trading Hickey, a future 2nd and a couple of 3rds.

There are quite a few non FS / NGA's that will be available in that 2nd round. Plus other clubs will be burning up picks to match 1st round bids. They won't want their next years 1st downgraded so plenty of 2nd and 3rd rounders will used to pay for bids.

I would be looking at the two best mids, the best ruck and the best small forward. There are some nice rucks ranked 20 > 35.

Pick up Alec Waterman as a DFA. Job done.

Wash rinse repeat next season.

Think the relationship between the clubs is pretty good as well, respect on the field after the GFs and have made some healthy deals off field in the past, we develop ruckmen well so it's a good apprenticeship for taking greater responsibility at Sydney

Plus West Coast got involved in that crazy deal involving hiding the Swans first round pick a few years ago. That involved a lot of trust from the Swans as well.

Still not sure if we did that as a favour to you blokes or just to stick it up Gil. We do have a good trading relationship but.

I do think if Smith and Higgins come into the team at Geelong then surely Clark gets worried if he gets a game?
Aside that, I'm surprised he's not taking the opportunity to come home. It's no guarantee that he'll get this opportunity again- where both WA teams are keen for him.

What about Tom Phillips from Collingwood for the ‘Masten wing’ ?
Seems to be on the outer there. Not a star but a consistent role player.
We need wingers, endurance runners apart from Gaff.

That old fart Rendell on trade radio has NFI .
So apparently he thinks essenden are getting band 1 compo for a banged up daniher and pick 7 from Carlton for saad .

Giving them picks 6 7 and 8.

I can almost hear SOS shaking his head through the radio

If Brisbane offer Daniher the 700k per year that has been rumoured then it will be band one and likely pick 7. Stupid system.

EDIT: Carlton won't pay that much for Saad

He’s a decent evaluator of talent of the kids he’s actually seen play, but he’s not up to speed in “value”.

We could get him for cheap but would have to take on his big salary

Non of the vic media bat an eyelid with daniher would get band 1 comp after doing nothing for 3 years .

But heaven forbid crows get band 1 for crouch who is probably their best player under 30 .

Zac Williams would probably get GWS band 1 too then

Duffield reckons the Swans are very keen on Hickey and have offered him a 3 year deal. Said it's looking like we may now keep Vardy and trade Hickey to get us back up the draft.

He also said Langdon will be for a 2nd or 3rd rounder so hope he's only half right.

Would be super pissed 😠 if we traded a second rounder for Langdon, a third I could live with, but no way would I give up a second rounder for him.

I could live with our third for GWS fourth coming back. Hard to see GWS even using our third rounder this year though?

Even if they gave us their fourth in return, can't imagine it'd end up too different to our third – if teams will be hitting the draft less than previous years, it's going to be a pick towards the end of the draft in either case.
