Im still struggling to work out why anyone here cares who an oppo supporter picked in a pretend draft?
Given I know stuff all about draftees usually I find it kinda interesting as it puts some names on the radar to look at. We're all just shittalking who we should take so I don't see the harm in an oppo fan putting in their 2c based on their drafting.

Surely we have enough jerks around here these days without you Russian Demon? You're better than that.

Anyway, I like the phantom drafts and I enjoy thinking about which players might be available or of interest to us in the lead up.

Ok, let me clarify the emphasis.

1) mock drafts, as mentioned above, are guesswork at best even when they are picked by people with relatively deep knowledge of both the draft and the club they pick for.
2) removing the knowledge of the club (i.e. using an oppo supporter) makes the results even more banal and irrelevant than it already is.

Combine with the fact this is the free agency and trade thread, the fact there is an entire board for usless (if not interesting) mock drafts... I stand by the question. Its not personal, its just a comment on the naval gazing exercise the whole thing is.

I’m sure people find everything you post completely relevant and on point. It’s a footy forum, guy is talking about Melbourne’s draft in a mock environment and shared by the outcome. Don’t see the harm.

Yeah tend to agree with the comments with the comments regarding Tmac staying and no backup ruck coming in. Although wouldn’t be surprised if we rookie one that could come in if needed.
Happy to keep Mitch Brown on. He was mostly good when he played.
I’d have a look at Jetta. We don't Havant kicks like him.

I would be happy to take Lewis Jetta on a 1 year contract, might work well with your Kozzie.
why cause they are both black? I don't see how Kozzie works any better with Jetta as any other forward on our list considering jetta plays half back/wing

Lewis Jetta isn’t leaving WA. If he doesn’t get a rookie spot at the eagles or Freo he’ll be playing country footy in the south west

That's the impression I get too. I'd have him, but I doubt he's interested in moving to Melbourne for a year or two at most.

I do wonder if we'll ask the question though. The whole point of pursuing Smith was to add some experience and class on the outside. Could do worse than Jetta.

What a ****ing dumb comment, maybe because we dont have to many options for quick blokes that can kick goals in our team.

We have a need for another crumbing forward and even though Lewis has played predominantly off half back at WC he did win the Swans leading goal kicker at one stage.

Just because he played most of his career at halfback/wing doesnt mean we cant try utilise him as a forward.

1) mock drafts, are generally just footy loving folk (like us) having a bit of fun in looking through the potential draft board and forecastingthoughts on which kids might end up at which clubs.

2) Maybe try taking phantom drafts a bit less seriously and see if you can just have some fun..

Apologies to you Russian Demon (I really enjoy your posting) and everyone else if I’m missing the mark, but a few years ago this board was the best on bigfooty by a mile.

We were the shittest side but most humble yet witty, self deprecating, humorous bunch of legends and no one could troll us - and other supporters genuinely enjoyed venturing over to see our style.

I miss those days.

I reckon my source is pretty reliable on this one. He won’t be moving to Melbourne

We certainly take ourselves more seriously than we used to. I try to keep it low-key by offering posts of very little substance. I can't really do the whole "that's it, I'm going to let you know what I think of you now" thing. It disrupts my equanimity. Which is not to say I don't admire some of the scorched-Earthers around here, I just don't have the temperament for it. I'm too civilised, nibbling at my cheese platter like a good Melbourne boy.

Charcuterie boards are the way to go.
