Stock market is a zero sum game. For every winner there are a shitload of losers.

This time the billionaire elites lost and have lost their mind.

I want to know how a company be shorted 140% of their issued stock. Surely you can only 'loan' and onsell existing stocks.

Its sounds like sci fi, but they have incredible computers that analyse patterns in the stock market and immediately take actions.
Time is a big factor, you want to be the first to get on and the first to get off.
Not a chance in hell that a human day trader can go close.
Problems with these computers can and have caused major problems in the stock market.

I'm just hoping my SuperFund has jumped on the right side of this GME boom.

it's genuinely bizarre.

i don't remember Aussie day being a thing as a kid in the 80s. i remember people wanting to see the fireworks on the foreshore but no one really gave a sh*t it was aussie day. in fact i remember WA day being a bigger thing or guy faukes night.

i think what has happened is there was a big push to commercialise the sh*t out of it, which resulted in the fireworks here and the subsequent party that occurred. you do that for long enough, you get kids who have early memories of the day going with family, that then hit their teens and get sh*t faced there. so you have all these memories without the understanding of our history to understand the date is a load of sh*t.

people are not tied to the date they're tied to the nostalgia of a party IMO they just don't realise it

if it actually was about the day i.e nationalism, then this date wouldn't be what they would want. they wouldn't be defending it for a second.

its manufactured plastic nationalism without any historical significance or meaning
Totally agree with that and just from my perspective i used to think and still think Australia Day was the excuse to hold Tripple JJJ's hottest 100 thats all.:)

I more saw it as weeding out those who didn't know the second verse to the anthem and bogans on the beach which meant more time for me to have a nap.

I have a virus on my computer.
When i try to search on google, it redirects to Bing.
Seriously!!!! fu** oFF microsoft

”Bing”, hey?
It‘s a sign, I tell you! 😉

Got to love the Government .

Department of Essential Services issue fluffy little pieces like this.

They have stated that renewables are 25% of the Victorian electricity generation.

But then they have this.

Stating that we have 1.13Tonnes of CO2 per Kwh.

That represents an "increase" on the previous official values.

I'm meant to be reporting our greenhouse gas use where i work, based on our " electricity use x the official figure".
My boss asking why our figures are so bad.

Power from Loy Yang B has a coefficient of 1.14.

I suspect our real co-efficient is closer to 0.9 IF we actually are using 25% renewables.

Chrome lol .
If you go to settings > web browser and there's no mention of Bing anywhere then yeah you've probably had something happen lol.

I remember I had similar a couple of years ago and even reinstalling my browser (I use both Firefox and Chrome but this was on Chrome) didn't fix it. I had to reformat the PC to make sure it was removed.

I ran Malwarebytes , and reset the browser. So one of those things fixed it. Think it was a browser add on,

TINNITUS

I suffer from an increasing level of Tinnitus. Tinnitus isn't a condition itself — it's a symptom of an underlying condition, such as age-related hearing loss, ear injury or a circulatory system disorder. If anybody has had success with any remedy, herb or exercise etc please illuminate me because its driving me insane at times.
If you've got it you know its no joke. I would really appreciate any information that reduces or assists in alleviating its degree of severity. Anything that you have had success with.

Unfortunately theres not a lot you can do. I got it at 26 and been dealing with it for 4 years now. It sucks.

There's a fancy head massage technique that works for some people but I believe it is temporary. You'll find it on YouTube.

Otherwise some sort of white noise like rain and thunderstorm play lists while trying to sleep if it gets bad. At this point that's the only time I notice it mostly. And also when someone mentions it :p

Check out the tinnitus subreddit too. Misery loves company hey.

yep too true....thanks for response...there are so many companies selling bullshit...Sleeptime is the worst...waking up is possibly worse still when its the first thing you notice every morning then slowly you adjust. You'd think they would have worked it out by now. Trying Hazelnuts and Walnuts at the moment apparently they reduce inflammation within the brain which is said may be one of the root causes but i dont know. 26 is very young to get it i must say...At least within your lifetime they might find a real cure....

Yeah, I get it too, it started in my 20s and I've learned to live with it. Thinking about it makes it front of mind. It's almost like you need to meditate or something where you try to remove your consciousness of it.

I played in bands and ruined my ears, seriously, the way to live with it is to kind of accept it's there as a background and not your first thought like it's raining outside or something.

This going to seem trite but the answer is to learn to live with it. I think the best answer lies in being able to retrain your brain as to how you view your tinnitus.

Mine (when I hear it) is about as loud as a bunch of cicada's starting up in my head.

I can hear it right now - but it no longer bothers me because I know that its here to stay, that there's very little I can do about it and if I disregard it, I stop hearing it.

My wife and I have both noticed it in the last five years, mine doesn’t seem to annoy me as much.

One thing that seems to relieve it a bit for me is to run a little warm water into my ear when I’m showering then let it run out. I have no idea why but it definitely offers me some relief, thinking about it definitely makes it seem worse my right ear is ringing away as I type this.

Anyway tumeric seems to work for some people and is readily avaliable, safe and reasonably cheap.

Good mate played lead guitar in a very well known Melbourne band in the 80's and 90's, even back with them only 5 years ago or so. Now Tinnitus has completely wrecked his hearing. Can't play, can't work.

It is a wretched condition.

No solution i know of.

Yeah I actually went and got it checked out cos none of my friends have it (still). Despite all of us going to roughly the same amount of gigs/festivals over the years. I never played in a band and only started going to louder venues when I hit 19/20. I feel a little ripped off to be honest.
