Autopsy Round 21 = Hawthorn 97-78 Collingwood

Who is in charge of the skills department? We lack the basic skills. It's not just the kicking, but picking the ball up from the ground. How many times have you seen a Collingwood player fumble the ball on the ground and then get tackled? It's infuriating! You watch any other team in the competition, they don't fumble as much as we do. I'm not exaggerating, Collingwood is the worst skilled team in the competition.

No Gunston, no Breust, no Smith, no Roughead, no Hodge, no Mitchell… an entire generation of Hawks have passed and they are still handing it to us every single time. And it was clear as day after their first two goals that we weren’t up to it. Awful showing.

In the end, another final margin that flattered us in the end after our opponents flicked off the switch. There was a 10 goal gulf in class and they would have won by at least that if they tried.

Ugly days for Quaynor, Mihocek, McCreery, Cameron, JT, Noble and Mayne. Plenty of senior players lacked the required intent too.
Of course they are still doing it because we and other teams ALLOW them to.

They all need a Massive Kick up the ass after that Disgraceful Effort.

Hardly Trying and Skills are not even up to Auskick Level

Hope Madgen and Thomas never play for Collingwood AFL team again

I do no longer Care IF we Finish last or not.

Players seem not to Care
Highly unlikely we get the spoon its either 2nd last or 3rd last now

Gee that was hard to watch, not too much went right. Start to get ready for the Bears.

It’s true. Everybody lambasted Buckley for playing ‘defensive’, what are you supposed to do with a team that has such poor skills? Kick yourself to death?

Harvey better resort to playing more defensive if he wants any chance of becoming coach. The media and peanuts on here don’t have a clue.

Defensive or offensive, it doesn't matter. We were losing anyway. I would rather see Collingwood play attacking footy and lose than play boring defensive footy and prolong the agony.

And Can't Tackle

Holy s**t the hate to Grundy is unreal. He was by far the best ruckman on ground, playing against 2 quality opponents. Took solid marks. Set up our clearances superbly with taps and grunt work. It's not his fault we win nearly every centre bounce in the first quarter and lose the game to turnover.

Today shows why we need a full coaching clean out. We just let them have their way, and some of our senior players should be ashamed with their decision making. When our first year players are hitting up better passes than Sidey and Thomas it's a big problem.

Out coached. Much like our recent games against the blues and power we had no plan b once the opposition cut off our outlets. The only difference was the hawks done it from the start of the match. Sides have done it often enough against us that we shouldn't be surprised when they roll it out.

Lost count of how many times we not only kicked to an outnumber going forward, but also favoured the opposition player. While there were a couple that were poor skill execution most were the result of the hawks structure and us not being prepared to mix it up.

Much like the opposition cutting off our only plan we also need to adjust Elliott being manned by a taller opponent and not kick it on his head. Again it's something that has occurred for the past few weeks.

Just need a Decent Coach to our Coach our Dumb Coaches

Also, what genius thought it be funny to have Dunstall and Lewis commentating a hawks game together plus known Collingwood hater Dal Santo thrown in for an extra troll measure.

Where was press red for Ed to balance things up.

Lewis acts like he's the hawks assistant coach out there. Was obnoxious.
Absolutely. It's rare that I mute the commentary, but today was so ridiculous the mute button was a godsend.

Best thing about this game is knowing it’s the last time we lose to a Clarko coached Hawthorn side.
Imagine how bad it will be if he goes to Carlton…

A good reality check for the club and a message to our incoming coach - we have too many passengers that pick and choose when they compete. Tactically we will improve but you still need intent from the players.

Darcy Cameron - doesn’t do enough. What he does is ok but few and far between. Maybe the lack of key forwards makes it harder for him.

Josh Thomas - I know he is the whipping boy but needs to do more. Gotta move past him.

mihocek - didn’t do enough. Once again maybe it’s the lack of a key forward.

WHE - just floats through a game

sidebottom - not good enough. 94metres gained.

I am not going to both mentioning Grundy.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. We are not as good as last week but not as bad as this week. Need a strong coach who won’t tolerate selective efforts. Hopefully he has identified these players already.

Didn't get to watch a lot of the game, but it went pretty much how I expected. Clarko has had a fun time coaching against teams this year and loves shitting on whatever plans the opponent had coming in. Set up brilliantly behind the ball, cut off our speed and ball movement and hit the counter with speed and skill.

Young, average teams are going to have their ups and downs, and this was a down day. Harvey was taken to school and put in a substitute teachers performance in the first half. To the credit of the team and coach, the second half looked respectable. I still wish he had flipped things around earlier, encourage the switch a little more as opposed to playing down the line. It felt like (for the bits I watched) that the risky kick through the middle had disappeared and we looked more conservative with our ball use, which is a bit of a shame.

Oh well, onward and upward.

Cameron's marking weakness is Cox's strength and vice versa. Cameron is good at standing still and plucking a mark while Cox's best is on the lead. Unless Cameron can improve his leading he'll only ever a be bit part forward.

Those that know me well know how made passionate I am. I watch the first qtr - watched Adams & Grundy spud it up and didn’t watch a single minute for the rest of the game. Don’t want to know, don’t *en care and not the slightest bit interested in if but or what’s and the same piss poor reasons why! Bucks for me is the best coach, having good cattle is what supports it!

Done for the year.

Sorry edit- one other thing - we lost to Hawthorn. lolololololololol
