Sco-mo trashing us all over the world
A significant portion of their voter base (farmers/rural) are also actively voting against their own interests when it comes to climate.Politicians are bound by their voters, and some of them work in industries adversely affected by pro-climate policies.
Not sure why but get the vibe you think I’m arguing against climate policy. Just that we won’t take action.A significant portion of their voter base (farmers/rural) are also actively voting against their own interests when it comes to climate.
Hardly surprising. Maybe this sort of policy should be left to independent committee.
Politicians are bound by their voters, and some of them work in industries adversely affected by pro-climate policies. Hardly surprising to see us choose money and jobs for the now over earth problems for tomorrow.
Make the decision not theirs to make.
No no, was supporting what you said. Not sure why but get the vibe you think I’m arguing against climate policy. Just that we won’t take action.
Not sure there are enough willing to vote against, Labor were almost unbackable favourites in 2019 and were rejected on a climate reform platform. We have too much money, people and machinery invested in coal to trust that to elected officials to fix.
What's happened?Boris looks to be in a fair bit of strife. The Tories need to get a proper Conservative in.
MPs with second jobs. One of Boris’ MP mates ‘works’ as a consultant for a Lab company. Last year that company was awarded two contracts worth a total of £500m!! without any other company allowed to bid. MP ‘represented’ the company in discussions with the Minister who awards contracts…yes hard to believe…and even harder to believe MPs (not Ministers) are allowed second jobs. What's happened?
It started with Owen Paterson, an MP paid circa 100k pa by Randox to lobby other ministers to grant contracts during Covid which it appears they won without a transparent process. What's happened?

Yikes, yeah there may not be any coming back from that.It started with Owen Paterson, an MP paid circa 100k pa by Randox to lobby other ministers to grant contracts during Covid which it appears they won without a transparent process.
It has now evolved into a full on 2nd jobs scandal and a public dressing down. All MPs line their pockets from 2nd jobs to ridiculous expenses claims. It has never been talked about in the public domain quite like it is now.
Boris is in trouble because the proper conservatives in the party want rid of him but haven't had the chance to knife him as he has been dominating in the polls. The Paterson scandal has now changed that.
Didn't one of the Conservatives tell Rashford he should focus on his day job? Did that person also have one of these?
