I don't usually defend him. Usually doesn't need it. He's not in good form. But every team needs a steady guy who can wrack up possessions and distribute it effectively if not spectacularly. That's been his shtick. The amount of abuse he's copped is a bit OTT IMHO. Bloke is still on 85% DE. People just taking out their frustration on one guy - when it's clearly the team getting beat IMO.

Watching his first 7 weeks and he does not seem to gel with our current game style.

Sure we need a steady hand but he has been a 2-3 goal a week negative so far this season.

DE is a terrible stat when kicking to a contest counts as an effective disposal - especially as a distributor from defence.

Apparently Heeney's opponent has soundly beaten him. Heeney has kicked 3 goals, 5 clearances and 18 disposals at 83%. I'd hardly call that soundly beaten.

Our backs are a rabble without Paddy. Next week Paddy and Gould in Lloyd and Harry out. We have been outgunned today. But bad decisions decided this game. They scrap like junkyard dogs. We don't. I want to see Roberts at one stage too.

We need to have Kenbedy in the mids but less time.
