I think someone already mentioned earlier, but flick the replay on this morning and have to listen to Luke Darcy and Jobe Watson…awesome. ☹️

Especially with Luke Darcy going "You can't do that!" after it.

Err, you can do that because he just did it you dipstick.

What? Holmes was one of our best in the first half. His run helped us get back into it in the second wtr.
His run was important. Had some poor moments and there wingers seemed well on top until they ran out of legs in the last.

High pressure and speed on the ball ay…?
We still don’t deal with chaos too well don’t we?
Luckily we were playing bottom 2 team from last year..
Good thing is hopefully we won’t be favourites for the cup now. Rather turn into the hunter rather than being the hunted. Hopefully that’s the case next time against the Dees…
Stanley awful as was Bews. Touhy jittery, blicavs jittery and Hawkins well beaten. Thought O’Connor coming on could be a blessing but he has been our worst senior player this year and so it continued… shabby type performance with too much speed on the game for the cats. How Geelong weren’t desperate in the first is mind boggling too given their history of failing at this stage…
Work to be done…
Mostly pretty right but harsh on Bews. I thought he was good?

I saw hundreds of Pie fans on the concourse going in and leaving and there wasn't anything even slightly like bad behavior.

I must admit that watching it on telly and seeing crowd shots of Collingwood fans, I kept marvelling at how our prison system granted day release for so many.

Maybe in hindsight this kind of generalising is a tad unfair. Maybe.

How much did we lose by?

Just staggers me after the year he has had he puts in an effort like that …maybe the break was the worse thing for him but geez he had his chances imo

Im suspicious he is carrying an injury but if he isnt that was an awful game. Cant afford it vs melb. If ceglar had played say 12 good games this year it would be an easy call to swap them after last night..because hes only played 2 its a difficult call but rhys didnt solidify his spot.

Wow that game gives me more questions than answers.

Loved our never give in attitude when we had no momentum but hated our fumbles skill errors and allowing pies forwards space on transition.
We didnt get the bounce of the ball all nigh5 either.

So many selection calls to dissect.
Cameron is worth all we paid for him.
Credit to the coaches i wouldnt have picked rohan it was a brave call but him and jezza won us the game.
Picking holmes was also a brave but right call and he was super as was close, dekoning was really good and so was zuthrie.
Not having parf as the sub nearly cost us the game as we needed more defensive pressure in the mids they killed us in transition.
That was the worst game ive seen blicavs play in years and stanley was old bad stanley.

Melbourne arent as good as they were last year but gawn is still top 10 in the comp and if stanley and blitz play that badly again he could win melb the game. It would be a brave call to change the structure and bring back ceglar for the prelim but i wonder if we do it. I think its more likely now than 24 hours ago.

Hopefully tonight was our nervous game ala the 2007 prelim and we smash it in our next game.

I went the other way.

I said post match to my mates that we simply can't play that badly twice in a row. So many fumbles, so many passengers, and we won!?!

I see it as a good omen personally. We got our bad final out of the system while still coming away with the chocolates.

Pardon my ignorance but what is hooked?

When you are fit but the coach puts you on the bench for the rest of the game. Same as if you get subbed out in rugby or soccer etc.

Stanley stays in for me. Ceglar no chance of running with Gawn. Not even a tough decision.

As I said before.

Stanley a strange ruck goes ok vs good rucks.

Plays like Jane vs avg rucks.

He'll be better vs Gawn or big Oscar if he plays.

If Stanley was playing cricket.

Fine leg to fine leg :moustache:.

Had a look at a few pages of the review thread on the Pies board. I'm a bit confused why we think they've been more respectful than Tigers supporters.

Most blaming the umpires, AFL corruption. Barely any respect or recognition shown to us. Quite disturbing, and from what I saw, absolutely no better than the Tigers, Hawks etc. They're salty as.

14 frees to 13. I thought it was umpired superbly. Umpires let the game flow as much as possible and just let the players play.

I just spoke with my old man on the phone and he's a massive Tiger supporter (one of the good ones). He thinks it was well officiated and Pies have no basis to sook about umpiring. He said it was consistent and non-decisions were there for both sides.

He laughed at Craig Mcrae criticising the umpires in his presser. He also thinks this win propels us to a flag.

Both sides deserved the win but only one can win in the end. This time it was us..

That exact same suspicion formed in my mind the longer I watched him yesterday.
