Recommitted Jordan DeGoey [Re-signed to 2027]

Madness by Pies to take the contract offer off the table mid year. Should have had him signed and locked away months ago.

Nope, they would have had a corporate sponsors revolt if they did that so soon after the Bali incident, especially later on after Jeff Browne's inappropriate comment at a packed business function with mostly women/AFLW players involved.

He won't be a big loss when/if he goes really

So the Bali incident has ended up costing him nothing? Behaviour clause or not Collingwood look a bit stupid for withdrawing a contract and then turning around and offering 5 years.
The Bali incident was a non event. Media nuked it, Pies responded woefully. He’ll commit with little fuss in the end.

Can tell you from a very reliable source, That Sydney is on the cards in a huge way. My source rang up trade radio 5-10mins before the public knowledge of DeGoey knocking back the pies offer explaining this. Everyone's mate Barrett laughed at the suggestion. Know it all w***er he is.
Sydney may well be an attractive option, would be great for Jordy to head out anonymously with no one recognising him. It’s his last big contract and he has to be 100% happy with the terms etc. Still can’t see this as anymore than a speed hump in the negotiation process.

Heard that. They were quick to backtrack 30 seconds later

Lol De Goey knows he can't behave himself. Best of luck to whichever club he ends up at. If Collingwood are smart they'll wave goodbye to him.

It’s all very weird.

He wants to stay, but doesn’t want to accept the behavioural clause. So therefore he’ll head to another club that’s not imposing such harsh restrictions.

But if we were to subsequently match the contract to force a trade, he would stay.

Makes you wonder why a club would chase him knowing that he doesn’t actually want to be there. Particularly without the protection of those clauses to keep his behaviour in check.
