Just do what the rest of us do and ignore him. Bloke is the Andrew Bolt of recruiting (knows more than the experts who do it for a living). Suspect that we will get regular diatribes on the picks that he doesn't like, same as we currently get for Fisher, Newman, pittonet etc regardless of how they play.
To be fair, a lot of the experts who do it for a living get sacked a lot for being no good at their job....

How many general defenders do you want playing in the VFL? 6?

I'm sorry, is he head of list management now? He's in the conversation, but we need talls too... we need difference makers in the forward half, whether they come from midfield or not.

We just got a boring winger who will give his all, and a slowish small defender with endurance who can kick well. Are we picking for the VFL or the AFL?
Cringe.

Seems like we're overcompensating for a lack of run but that's only one of a few deficiencies - where's the strategy?
This draft tells me the club think we have most positions covered. Just building depth and fiddling at the edges.
Good sign of faith in where we are at. Time we tell if we are delusional.

Okay, firstly, I wouldn't have picked any of those kids at those picks

What we have done, is added endurance and ball movement players, in Hollands, Cowan and Binns, all of who, win their own footy, which is very important

My concern, we really haven't addressed and or prioritised pure speed and footskills

Lemmey, COULD be the best tall of this draft, can play anywhere down the spine
Regarding your concerns, I think we have those things already. Saad, Fisher, Williams, Cuningham (inj), Boyd? All fit that mould. With 3 of those players in our best 22 if fit.

Couldn't have asked for a better draft...

Glad we took the huge risk on the super talented Lemmey...

I missed that. Is Binns a childhood Blues supporter too?

Thought I heard them say that... Can't find it anywhere though, anyway he's a Carlton supporter now...

Something very Harrison Macreadie about this pick.

Boom or bust. No inbetween.
Think you can afford to take a risk like that in the 40-50 range. However we do need some KPF depth so fills a need as well (and can also play back). Also missed four games at the start of the year with Covid which would have disrupted his season pretty significantly.

Yep. Happy with the pick. They don't always work out (Macreadie didn't) but there was a reason why Lemmey (and Macreadie) was rated so highly at one point or another pre-draft.

When they do work they change the entire fortune of a club.

Got to be better depth than Josh Cripps at this stage.

I think that's an excellent summary - we've built depth in some areas, and are backing in development in others. Just hope our assessment is spot on.

Disagree, his issue is that he can probably play anywhere along the spine, but his game lacks any nuance to it. Strikes me as smart enough to change that around if he gets past any anxiety and breaks down how elite players make a difference in the big moments. McKay may be a great help to him in the forward group, as he went through a similar phase.

Macreadie was all x-factor and intercept, but didn't have the brains to settle in and get the basics right when matching up on an opponent.

Pick 11 - don’t mind this pick. Does fill a need for us, being a great 2 way runner on the wing. Good kid and committed. High floor player.

Pick 30 - Love like pick, a steal. Good foot skills, good work ethic. You just know he’s gonna be a good player.

Pick 32 - don’t really like this pick, even more so after taking Hollands. Can run but very outside and not a great kick. Think LOB without the footskills. I think someone like Hotton would have been a better pick who can also run and has good skills and is damaging.

Pick 47 - Love this pick. High risk high reward type. Was rated as a potential #1 pick going into this year. Hopefully just a down year and once he gets into a professional environment can get back on track.
