That's the thing! No one is deserving of being dropped or being the sub.

I'd prefer to see the older players getting the sub role I think - like we did with Mitchell, who on his gameday vlog, remarks that he's not as sore next day with the managed minutes. I'm just such an Oleg fan, love seeing this man excelling with the Pies.

It depends on how you define deserving? Because on form it certainly is harsh but I also think he’s clearly the weakest in his position compared to his competitors.

I don’t mind older players to get the sub role for a rest but they need to play full games in the big clashes Imo.

I love Oleg’s style of play. I love watching anyone who can run and carry. There’s always excitement when he gets the ball in a bit of space.

The change in the sub rule this year is missed by the media & some supporters. That's what annoys Fly so much, every time a journo refers to the sub as being dropped. The sub is not just used for injury, but now tactical.

Mitchell wasn't dropped last week when he was made sub. Oleg isn't being dropped this week either. He's impactful, he's fast, he's exactly the type of player you need when the game requires pace. And he's also playing well enough to come on as the sub in the first qtr if needed through injury.

I compare the sub role to the old days of 19th/20th man. It was really hard to come straight on from sitting on the bench for a fair chunk of the game and come up to speed and get straight into the action.

But theres so many white knights that will probbaly ride together until you are ushered out of the stadium. People become far too over sensitive

Was a harsh marker on this bloke earlier in the year. The fact he hadnt been at the club for more than six months and i thought i had a juidgement on him already shows how foolish i was.

Don’t disagree. I personally am not in the camp that doesn’t see that the sub role has changed. Why I said being dropped OR being the sub. However being the sub is a decline from the starting 22.
Mitchell is clearly best 22 but was managed.
Oleg isn’t being managed. In his case it’s because he’s just scrapping into the 23. I like how this blokes goes about his footy and it’s a shame it will only be a limited game for him.
But I don’t know who would be out instead of him.
He’s doing better than Ash Johnson who’s contributed 6 goals over the last two games. Such is the “problem” we have at Collingwood with a healthy list.

Markov for Lipinski likely means Markov for Crisp at the hbf and Crisp for Lipinski at the hff. I think both moves are a downgrade.

I think Mitchell’s contested work declining has more to do with the oppositions lack of quality rather than a drop of form.

I don't see that. I don't see either Lippa or Markov as starters who hold a role as our best choice for any position. To me they're both rotation players.
