It was your info a couple weeks ago that we were in town talking to him wasn't it? He probably gave them the heads up then and now it's up to Port to release him.
Talking is one thing, getting the green light is another. Lord would have to come out and request a trade for this to happen.

Future 3rd. No more.

Sav > Lord. All day of the week or year.
Young player with potential, and contracted.

Player in his prime with potential, uncontracted.

I' probably rate Sav lower than most and am higher on Lord, but I'd be happy with a straight swap. Feels fair enough for mine.

Both player with high ceilings, but some obvious flaws that give them that boom or bust title.

You might regret that down the track a bit

He would never contemplate this - because he wouldnt get the ridiculous money that Pt Power are offering

But i reckon SAV would be better off in the NRL - id play him fullback - with his athletic - and power and all the rest of it - even his kicking - he would look a decent kick in the NRL

Feels more like a Payne Haas type to me.

You gotta be pretty fleet of foot as a fullback. Sav's still got that 'unco' look regardless of what he's doing.

Tedesco for example would have a pretty similar athletic profile to Danger, which is more of what you're looking for.

Sure, but it would be pretty rare for the Cats to say we want Lord if he'd said 'No thanks, get stuffed' a couple weeks ago wouldn't it?

No i think its just us applying pressure to port and telling them we will get him next year (when he is ooc and hawkins probably retires). They wont release him this year.

Everyone has a price. And unfortunately what comes around, goes around. Whether it be this year or next.
They're trying to win one in the next year or two. Ken hasn't got much lee-way left and the supporters are almost at public revolt level of him being at the club.

If Ollie comes out and says I'm gone next year anyway, why wouldn't you do it?

The kid's talented, but they need a key back a lot more than they need another key forward.

If Dixon, Marshall, & Finlayson are fit and firing (Georgiades post knee), he probably doesn't get a game anyway.

That’s all true. I’m not disputing that he could be traded. It’s valuing him that’s the tricky bit. He’s shown a bit but not a lot. Is that enough for them to justify asking a lot? I don’t know.

Weird that we are into Lord, or moreso weird that we didn’t draft him giving his Geelong connection. In 2020 He went pick 49 to Port and we took Nick Stevens at 47. We obviously didn’t rate him at all coming into the draft
With Hawk and JC coming aboard the thinking was he wouldn't get a game for 3 years I guess.

He's not on the same value as Esava, even if you say one is contracted and the other isn't.

Sav was 2nd in our BnF up to the mid point of the season this year wasn't he?

Lord has not shown any consistency as a Key Forward kicking goals at any level of footy - neither U18s, neither SANFL, nor AFL.

What I'm trying to say is Sav's performances have him ranked a lot higher as a Key Defender, than Lord as a Key Forward. Granted, Lord has good athletic traits, but so does Sav. Neither are world beaters, but I think Esava will be a better Key Defender than Lord will be as a Key Forward. Time will tell.
