Whether it's too early or late is irrelevant when u only have THAT pick.8 is too early for koltyn and 30s is too late.
I think he will go late r1 but we dont have a pick in that range
Bargain really. The Schultz trade seems expensive... I know he's a decent player.
But maybe they must be thinking of offloading Ginnivan.
Pick 8 for two future first from a team that just won the flag and another that finished top 3? Spew
I probably expect Mullin to play more. Think he will improve over the summer and he is physically ready. From that list Bruhn and Bowes are effectively regulars now. You’d expect them to play every game bar injury. Clark and Knevitt I’d hope to make the next step and play 12-15 games if their form warrants. Dempsey might be squeezed unless he can play wing perhaps replacing Smith. Id like to see him tried there.
Mullin and Clohesy are a way off. Unless they develop substantially over the off season I can’t see either playing too often. If they get 2-4 games then they’ve probably done well.

Yep. Our list manager, Andrew Mackie is actually a case in point. One of many. Taken at pick 7, many 'experts' had him nowhere near a first round candidate...Whether it's too early or late is irrelevant when u only have THAT pick.
It makes me laugh when folks say...
"Player A went 5 picks early"
Or
"Player B could of been had 10 picks later"
Really doesn't come into play if the team hasn't got that other pick or even a later pick.
If he is rated by Wells & Co as the 7th or 8th ranked player that all that matters not what ESPN or Cal Twomey or whoever does their own player rankings reckon.
I don't really care who we get TBH.
Just as long he's a good one i'll be happy.

I'd put my house on the fact that when when look back on this draft in a few years, there will be players drafted well outside this elite top 8 that go on to have better careers than many of the top 8 / 10 selected.
So ...if we do not move on Sav... and Port dont move ..... does he get thru to 25/30 in the draft ... and Port take him with the pick they are offering?
I reckon Nth are a chance of picking him up.So ...if we do not move on Sav... and Port dont move ..... does he get thru to 25/30 in the draft ... and Port take him with the pick they are offering?
Nothing. What’s stopping us from offering someone a future 2nd to get in before Ports first pick & just redraft him?
Re Sav
If clubs are willing to pay what is rumoured then he is worth more than what we are being offered.I reckon Nth are a chance of picking him up.
I suspect the club had an eye for the future by playing Oisin before he was ready because they realised we need leg speed in the back half - not only there btw.I probably expect Mullin to play more. Think he will improve over the summer and he is physically ready.
Tom Lonergan at pick 23 was a ripper selection. And he ended up playing more AFL games than all but three players from his draft, with Tom Lonergan not far behind. Pretty incredible scouting.

Port should have have kept their F1 and offered that.If clubs are willing to pay what is rumoured then he is worth more than what we are being offered.
It was moreso extremely good development to turn him into a defender.Tom Lonergan at pick 23 was a ripper selection.
Best example of what Sav could become.Tom Lonergan at pick 23 was a ripper selection.

Took a lot longer than people would remember. Was a whipping boy for a while. It was moreso extremely good development to turn him into a defender.
almost certainlySo ...if we do not move on Sav... and Port dont move ..... does he get thru to 25/30 in the draft ... and Port take him with the pick they are offering?
And some have spent a pick 1 with the same sort of scenario...Sav would get through to Port, nobody is going to use a top 20 pick and commit to paying big money for a guy that doesnt want to be there.
Nth Melbourne #15, #17, #18.Nodody is using a top 20 pick on a guy that doesnt want to be at their club, Sav would be a certainty to get to Port.
