Everyone else is saying they are not keen but I'd honestly be interested at Hawthorn.

Brockman gone, Wingard injured and Breust has 1 year left. Can probably get him for a 3rd rounder or so and I'd be open to seeing if we can make something of him - eradicating the ducking and get him playing decent footy.

Worth a shot with some of what he showed in 2022.

2022 Goals 40 (avg 1.7), Free Kicks 32 (1.4).
2023 Goals 12 (0.9), Free Kicks 5 (0.4).

Almost like the only thing he really had was the ducking.

Supporters who don't want him are thinking with their hearts, not their heads. 40 goals as a 19 year old - 5 in front of 85k on ANZAC Day, 3 in a sudden-death final, 3 in a must win last round match against Carlton to make top four. Dead eye dick in front of the sticks too. Pressure does not overwhelm him.

Four times this year he was activated as sub too late to have any impact on the game. Still pulled up 21 combined goals and assists in his remaining 10 games.

He is a ripping forward talent. With baggage, yes. Worth the risk.

Yes, I get that and would be why he should be much cheaper this year than he would have been last year.

However, I suspect deeper analysis would reveal that not all of those free kicks resulted in goals and that the ones from goals would only be in the 10-15 category.

Even if he only had a 25-30 goal season (once you take out goals from frees) as a 19 year old small forward, it would suggest some underlying talent to work with.

Baggage - yes, plenty to work on - yes but still some talent to hopefully work with and develop, for the right price.

Let me be the first to say that the way this boy has been treated by the AFL and their umpiring department has been absolutely ridiculous, and I look forward to him getting a completely new lease of life in the beautiful colors that are the Premiership Gold and the Earthly Brown. 🙃

I really rate him and would be very happy if he came to Hawthorn.
In my opinion he's worth our future 2nd
However not sure we can trade that out with other possible deals unless we get your f2nd back.

Why would we trade a contracted forward who kicked 40 goals last year and played in the premiership for a third rounder who most likely won’t be anything.

He was in the 22 for just 9 games this year and is likely to have even less opportunities with Schultz coming in. F3 is probably unders but F2 would be overs

Provided you keep your future first, you can trade all other future picks if you want. Geelong did that last year.

I'd be surprised if Massimo involved a future second. Gunston cartainly won't. I agree your future second is pretty much bang on right now.
