Port Adelaide Football Club Chairman, David Koch, said Tredrea’s experience in the game at the highest level, both as champion player and in the media, makes him a fantastic addition to the club's Board of Directors. “Warren grew up at Port Adelaide. He played in an SANFL Premiership as a teenager before becoming one of our greatest AFL players,” Mr. Koch said. “His career spanned 14 seasons and 255 games, and of course, he captained the club to our inaugural AFL Premiership in 2004. “It will be terrific to have his knowledge and experience around the Board table. “A total of 10,405 member ballots were received, which historically is a very high number. “It’s pleasing to see so many members engaged in their football club and having a say, in what was an incredibly close result. “I sincerely thank Bruce Abernethy for his nomination to join the Board as a member elected Director. Bruce is also a champion of Port Adelaide, and it's terrific to have past players who continue to be actively involved in the club." Tredrea replaces Kathy Nagle who decided not to re-nominate after completing her three-year term. “Kathy has made a significant contribution to the Port Adelaide Football Club over the last three years, bringing important skills and knowledge to the Board. “Kathy is an incredibly passionate Port Adelaide person and I look forward to her remaining actively involved in the club.”​
