Here are the crime board rules of engagement. Please read them.

Importantly, 'sub judice' means that a case is under consideration by the courts. 'Sub judice contempt' can occur if information is published that may be prejudicial to the court proceedings.

Don't spread baseless rumours or state as fact that which is opinion, please.

A degree of respect in all discussion across this board is expected.

Why are you deliberately making up crap? I'll reiterate, why are you in a true crime thread if you're so repulsed by what perps do to their victims?

Have you ever followed a case before from beginning to end?

Just because people are here doesn’t mean they like the act!

People are pissed and want justice it is that simple.

There is a text message with such content. I am unsure if the text is legit or the same as the police have in the possession. However there is a text message….

No idea what you're talking about.

My point is I have never declared I have a text - or a video - or anything other than words spoken to me.

It's not difficult to comprehend.

Given the names Patrick and Stephenson are very common, another court listing of that name goes nowhere near it proving to be Patrick Orren.

Also, have you noticed Daily Mail isn't even on to it yet?
The Daily Mail, lol.
They followed the husband around for months waiting until he laughed for 1 second so they could photograph him and insinuate him.
It's a crap publication.

So its fine for you to make up your own mind but when someone else wants to do the same thing it's deemed "Subhuman". Nothing weird about wanting to know information.
If it's irrelevant to the case I don't want to know about it. If it's so vile that you have to warn people about it I don't want to see it. If it's not factual or substantiated I don't want to see it. And I don't understand any other normal person wanting to see it. If you and others want to watch it that's fine, just stop clogging this thread with DM requests because they are frankly aberrant, but more importantly add nothing of value to the discussion.

Mmmm.. I know I posted umpteen pages back that I highly doubted they are the same person, but now I don’t know what to think. I’ve read a few things elsewhere that the ‘no middle name guy’ apparently had a Bond hearing in January at Ballarat Magistrates Court. So I’m not sure of anything anymore. Grain of salt and all that, but it will be interesting if anything comes out on Friday.

Nothing comes up in January under the surname Stephenson (I just had a quick look).

It's understandable there are many Ballarat locals engaging in this thread who will be hearing all kinds of things about Patrick Orren but we don't need to repeat all those things in here. We should keep in mind that Samantha's body hasn't been found yet so the investigation is still intense and that the matter is sub judice, meaning it's before the courts.

Let's keep the discussion sensible and try to limit it to information we get from our regular news sources. Daily Mail content is as loose as it should get in here.

Please and thank you.

No one said YOU did.

You chose to take it upon yourself to start defending yourself, when no one said YOU had any text or video.

The thing about pings is that (unless the analysis has come a long way) they don’t provide a particularly accurate location. You’d think there might be quite a few people in the vicinity.

From memory, with Adrian Bayley it was the fact their phones were hitting various mobile towers at the same time etc so maybe it’s something similar here (ie he moved her body with the watch or phone).

Using mobile pings to track movements becomes more accurate the more towers that are in range, so that a signal can be triangulated as such. In the case of Adrian Bayley, they could see that the missing girls phone had been moving along the CityLink toll road, and then they cross referenced with the toll records of the vehicles that travelled that route in the same time frame.

Ari, soon as you heard a rumour about a RWNJ neo Nazi connection, you were all over it.

Why on earth would people be discussing it if it wasn't relevant.

You and your mate can't comprehend basic commentary - you've made up things in your head that have never been mentioned and are both going on a rant about it ad nauseum.

Patrick Stephenson might be a common name in a big city but the Ballarat court area would only be about 150,000 people and those with upcoming court cases would only be maybe 150 people, so I think it's the same Stephenson.
If it wasn't , it would have been stated as such by now imo.

The upcoming court date with SOCIT is in Melb though, not Ballarat.

That wasn't from the Daily Mail. The nazi thing is s strong probability from all reports.
The Daily Mail is about sensationalism, clicks and making money, so any report from them has to be queried.

What reports? Was it reported on in any press under editorial oversight?

Patrick Stephenson (case P11510846) is from Socit-Westgate which is from Werribee.
Ballarat has it's own Socit unit so if it was Patrick Orren Stephenson you would think that it would come from Socit-Ballarat.

Further P11510846 is sheduled for the Melbourne Magistrates' Court rather than the Ballarat Magistrate's Court.

I assume that it is someone different with the same name from the Werribee area.

Sorry but I don't reckon the clerks of courts or whoever puts together court lists would be bothering to crosscheck every name on their list with every other court list in the country, and putting annotations like "Hey folks this is John Smith the drug dealer, not John Smith the child pornographer, Ok?"

I would expect if the same police informant or investigation unit was listing multiple court appearances for the same person they would use a consistent wording of their name. Similarly, I would expect if the registrars knew that there were two different defendants with the same name they would probably deliberately list them differently on purpose to make the distinction.
