I thought Cripper and McGovern were terrific tonight. McKay had a good game and TDK showed enough to suggest he deserves the no. 1 ruck spot. Still a little rough but there's no way Pitto can do what he does (marking, ground balls, goals). Have to leave him in there all year. We had a few passengers, but not going to call them out. Plenty of quality to come in.

Boy oh boy do we need Weitering back. Conceded far too many easy marks in their F50

Leadership was truly lacking back there. After a fantastic game last week Young was bereft of confidence for most of the game. Heart in my mouth everytime he was involved in the play.

Carroll is one smart footballer, protecting teammates and blocking opposition players his body positioning is A grade.
Kemps strong marking and wanting the ball in his hands when the heat was on regardless of errors is impressive.

I think it's a confidence game with Kempy. I still don't think he fully believes he's a good backman and so some self doubt kicks in on occasion. He'll get there, with consistency he'll fully believe soon enough. I'm sure of it.

Kemp will be fine with Weitering beside him. I don’t want to be negative after a win but Young was genuinely shocking, his timidness causes mistakes and brings the players around him down.

Confident we start putting away sides with JW back.

Took a great mark & kicked an excellent goal in Q4. Otherwise I thought he was thoroughly towelled up by Nankervis.

The #1 role of a ruckman is to tap the ball to advantage and help your team win clearance. And today while we won hitouts.. we lost clearances, centre clearances & stoppage clearances.

The reason? TDK hitout to advantage rate was just 28%, half of Nankervis'. TDK won plenty of taps.. he just hit it to the wrong team. Over. And over. And over again.

Jesus Christ, walking into this thread is like walking into a war zone - misery everywhere.
We won!!!! The only part of the game Richmond had control of was at clearance, which shows we can win in multiple ways now. They played out of their skin, and we have a mountain of outs still. Weitering, Walsh, Marchbank, Martin and Motlop will all make a big difference to this side.

I challenge anyone who’s whining and complaining about that result to show me where they’ve said “we’ll be 2-0 at the bye”. Cause I guarantee no one did. So we are above the ledger for this point of the year, with 2 gutsy wins
