come on, what is with everyone wanting to bring Sharrod in? wtf has he done , has rarely been in Willy's best.

If we are serious about putting our best side on the park and not just giving guys a go for the sake of it we shouldnt see him till at least next year in the ones.

Dont take me the wrong way because he has looked impresive at williamstown but no way should he be in our best 22 yet.

I cant wait for the day when MM and the selection committe pick our best side on form!! not names, potential, reputation, or just playing them so as to make a decision on if we keep them next season. (which is why i think Toovey and Licca played last week)
As for Johno if he doesnt get rubbed out he should be given a wake up call and sent bak to Willi, there are guys there more deserving of a spot at this stage.

I was at the game and it happened where I was sitting as the two players were running towards goal. I didn't see the replay on the screen but it looked like he came in from the side and made contact with his shoulder.

Can anyone confirm that? If that's right then I doubt it will be 4 weeks.

I thought it was a shocking incident. In todays football though, players are judged on how hard they play at each incident, at a fraction of a second this particular incident turned foul... I felt terrible for ben tonight, he looked really sorry for what he did... I know it was a shocking incident, not intentional though.... Its such a fast game now that its a split second moment between being a champion and being a thug... unfortunately Ben was a thug tonight

Good post Bloben, just like the Crowley (?) incident against Presti early on the year I don't think this was intentional, although it will always look that way on slow motion replay.

I do hope Bell makes a full recovery.

I think they will try to make an example of it(and they should) and he could be looking at 8-10 weeks.
He knew the second he did it that he stuffed up. I have no doubt his intention was to bump but you just dont do that. It was a total brain faze.
I thought he was playing one of his better games for the year when he did it to. He looked as though he was starting to carry the ball again.

Ironic isn't it? The worst incident this year and the guy will get towelled althought the victim appears OK. The worst incident last year was Caracella (broken neck) and the thug escaped scott free without even a media frenzy, oh well as someone said, can start the pre season early as his form has been crap, although he was doing much better tonight. It is all part of the rich tapestry that is Collingwood.

Gone for the year. Just a split second thing and I really don't think he wanted to hurt him. Unfortunately for us, it changed the momentum of the game.

Johnson has struggled all year so perhaps he's carrying something. Let him get right for next year.
