7 cities in 7 weeks

That does not happen normally

And before muppets through the interstate argument they play the same venue every 2nd week

Meanwhile pies and tigers spend 17 weeks in Melbourne and 15 at the g

Not searching for excuses , but it’s a valid point to no legs in the last

I would love for us to say bye to Tassie and play 4 extra games in Melbourne each year, but the bean counters might think differently considering the 4 mill a year sponsorship with Tassie we have.

We win most games there too.

Put the superstition aside; Dogs and Lions are the best two teams in it and they’ll be playing on their home decks.

Giants beat one of them on the run to the finals then they deserve to be there.

We also have the possibility of nabbing Carlton’s spot if we’re good enough, which has been mentioned elsewhere in the thread.
If by some miracle we beat Carlton by 10 goals then maybe.

Not just that, but if the Bulldogs lose to GWS, then they themselves would only be a slip up against Adelaide away from going below us provided we win all 3. There's plenty of paths to the 8, they just mostly involve smoking Richmond and North.

Three very good quarters. One really poor one.

Plenty of positives.

Thought that was Meeks best game purely from a ruckman's perspective.
Meeksy has been huge all year.

The importance of having a big, powerful ruck like Lloyd who cracks in around the ground and in the ruck keeps really can't be underestimated.

I'd be bringing in serong to free up Weddle. Then either McKenzie and or maginess/ Morrison.

Breust, ward and or cj maybe out. Depends on how gunners recovers as well. Sammy may even feel dear needs a spell from the pressure. Does Skaife get a go. Not sure he is ready. Bhh watchers, what do you think

Ward has to go out. Mackenzie is an upgrade on him marginally. Macguiness offers close to nothing beyond tagging. Unless you want that he shouldn’t be named in the squad ever. I dont see the potential in Serong at all. I much prefer Seamus Mitchell. Not sure why he’s been dropped actually.

Don’t let the scoreboard fool you. GWS controlled large parts of those first three quarters. They should have reduced the lead a lot more in the third we scored some late goals that flattered us.
They were inaccurate early but always in it and always till it mattered.....the final siren

Bitterly dissopointing we controlled most of the game. Honestly we should never have lost from that position, the Giants smelt the blood and took the Win.

Hogan was the difference, Dear was the tactical sub. You can see why the club is heavily investing into the spine.

We have bridged the gap and should be proud off our efforts none the less.
my exact sentiments

Given the circumstances it was very disappointing. To be up by that much and loose hurts.

I thought our skills were way below average today.. like well well below, and simple mistakes hurt us.

Dispute the score like I thought our midfield and backline were disappointing and well beaten. There were far too many passengers this afternoon.

All in all, I can’t be too annoyed. I’d rather be us right now than a dozen other teams.

I fully expect us to bounce back in a big way next week.

Like many posters on here, it looked to my eye that we never looked like pulling away from GWS all day. Just one of those games…

Newcombe - Fantastic in close and on the burst.
Meek - Really strong game from him.
Day - Seemed like a quiet game to me?
Gunston - Looked like the strategy worked for me. Put aside the four goals - Sam Taylor was a non-event
Small forwards - Apart from Moore, others seemed to have a down game?

It's disappointing to have a loss, but as has been said a few times on this board this year, it's never as good or as bad as it seems. And even though the result wasn't as we'd like, it was a really special one for me. I watched it from a hospital room at the Epworth Freemasons, with my newborn son in my arms. Three years we gave up hope of ever having kids following round after round of unsuccessful IVF treatments, after giving up on that dream and making peace with our lot in life, we were blessed with a miracle. I write this with very little sleep but a ton more perspective.

Somehow the loss doesn't hit as hard today :)

You’ve done well to bump our percentage up by 7% and get GWS down below us. I wish I could live in that world.

Maybe Lions beat Giants by more, maybe GWS lose to Dogs by less, maybe we beat North by more, who knows. We will see. However contrary to your suggestions, it’s possible. I’d even go as far to say that it’s 50/50.

Ward was highly rated as a junior because he was consistent and had endurance as an inside mid, racking up the possessions.

He hasn't shown to be a particularly skillful user in his outside role at AFL level, so whilst he runs out the game you have to question the point of an average/unathletic user of the ball. Needs to progress to the middle or develop some weapons.

Morrison should be ahead in his current role but perhaps the papers are stamped.

Shattering way to lose with the finals on the line.
We did so much right for 3 quarters.

We let them flood out of our F50 with no pressure in the last and Hogan too good for Weddle in the air the biggest reasons for the loss.
