Let's face facts, 20 daicos stat paddling touches per game, as opposed to Cripps who goes hard for the pill and gets it on his own. There really is no comparison.

On SM-A536E using BigFooty.com mobile app
One is the inside bull who gets it out to the better ball users (though not sure who these are at Carlton), whilst the other is one of the best decision makers and deliverers in the game.

They're both valuable, albeit very different roles.

Notwithstanding the fact Daicos did a lot of inside work in 2024, and is continuing to improve that part of his game as a player who has had 3 years in the system.

But in an ideal world, why wouldn't you want the best decision maker and ball user in the game in space with the ball in his hands, as opposed to being the one dishing it off to others in space?

So more efficient AND approximately 70% more metres gained?

Before we consider the conditions and what was at stake for the respective teams?

I know which performance I'm taking.

Walshy concedes at 2:1...
4 of those touches from kickins and who knows how many metres gained.

Unfortunately Fudger, the facts are Nicky has never eclipsed Cripps 2019 performance vs Brisbane.

It's okay to admit it.

If Cripps was a better ball user and decision maker, he might get the opportunity to take the occasional kick-in himself...

But let's hear about some of Cripps matchwinning performances in games that matter.

Remember, it's your turn.

Is that right... Why has Nicky moved into the midfield instead of staying down back taking kick ins?

No De Goey, Mitchell, etc for a lot of the year.

When you're as good as he is, and can play many roles at an elite level, you have the luxury of using him in whatever position is the best for the team.

Astounding to think he won a Coaches Award, came second in the Brownlow, won his club best and fairest, and was awarded All-Australian all whilst playing in a role in which he is developing and is by no means the role best suited to him....

Sorry, did he not play primarily midfield in the back half of 2023 when Degoey and Mitchell etc were all healthy?

Why did he move into the midfield away from down back?

Not sure what point you're trying to make?

He's such a good player, he's continually developing in different roles, and playing in whatever position is most beneficial for the team.

He did a lot of first possession work in 2024, and there is no way that is his best role if we have all our other midfielders up and running.

Anyway, you're digressing.

Have you been able to find a second matchwinning game from Cripps in his 200 plus game career?

An important game where there is something at stake for Carlton would be nice.

Why can't you just answer the question? Why did Nicky move into the midfield in 2023 & 2024?

Why didn't he stay down back if he was so good at it?

Fudger gone silent because he knows where this is going.

Still yet to produce a single more influential game than Cripps 2019 performance vs Brisbane
Such influence.

BOG in a win in round 12, when your team is 1 and 10.

Is that all you've got.

I guess we're resigned to the fact Cripps has a single matchwinning performance across his 200 plus game career - a dead rubber in round 12 2019, when his team were 1 and 10 and pressure and expectation were non-existent.

WTF?

All positions are influential.

That's why it's a team sport.

Go tell Harris Andrews or Jacob Weitering that their roles aren't influential.

Say the same thing to Curnow and McKay.
You telling me a small back pocket is as important as a KPF or Ruck?

How many half backs would be considered in the top 10 players in the game?

I could come up with probably another 20 matchwinning performances for Crippa, but I'm still waiting for you to admit Daicgul has never produced a game better game than Cripps in 2019.

Last time I looked there are 6 midfielders between the arcs at every CBB. Matters not if one mid is deemed to be betta than some other random mid - when in team sports it is the combination of all players that matters.

To put it mildly - I would take Carlton's midfield over Collingwood's in 2025, 2026 and 2027 however, since TDK is apparently now going to St Kilda ( LOLOLOLOL) or some other random Club in 2026 I reserve the right to change my view in 2026.

First test between the Clubs will be round 4 - following a nice warm up game Carlton gas against Hawthorn.

Cant wait to see Carlton skinny runt of a mid Jagga Smith team up with Walsh as the running links - havent seen a Carlton team with such a powerful midfield since Ratten days.

He does get tagged. Even in a different reality where it was just run with roles - you only do that if the player is damaging. No coach is making one or more of their own players "run-with" another unless he is damaging enough to impact the result significantly.

And yes Cripps is a matchwinner. Using his career win % when he joined a team at the bottom as evidence of the opposite is bizarre.
lol if you cant win games its pretty hard to be a matchwinner.

Hey Heathy, is it true that Nick Daicos has materially influenced more wins, and in bigger games, in his 3 year career than Cripps has in his 12 year career?

If Cripps is a 'matchwinner', what does that make Daicos?
lol its not even close. The GOAT is the reason we won a flag after we finished 17th the year before he was recruited. Kicked 3 goals from the half back with 40 possessions in his first season.
Goes ok i reckon

Nobody cares what Nicky did in his first week as a newborn or what he did when he got up off the toilet last week Fudger.

Crippa has had more BOGs and played better footy over the last 3 years than Squibby.

So as to your question earlier...

Nicky is just a worse version of 'matchwinner'. Crippa's currently the best in the business.
this is hilariously deluded
