Agree, he does it a bit different to Dusty but can win it in the middle, win it on the outside, hit targets and win it inside 50 too.Off topic, but I reckon JDG has wasted his talent. Even with flag.
IMHO, this guy has all the attributes to be GOAT, has flashes of this brilliance, and some compare him to Dusty, right now he ain't Dusty's boot lace, as good as he has been.
I don't think there's ceiling with this player, I really don't, to this day I don't think he's anywhere near potential, at all.
I've had a lot of Pie fans disagree with me on this, but I'm staying phat, he could be GOAT, I don't think that'll happen though.
Potential to reach it? Yes, will he? Not sure, unlikely.
Lohmann [emoji106]who were the 'matchwinners' in the 2024 grand final?

Has the 1995 VCR run its race?
It is interesting that Mick McGuane rates Carltons list as better than the Pies this year.
Probably bottom 4. Tommy looks like a 2nd round type talent.Be interesting to see where Mick rates it next year when Tommy's a part of it![]()
Another match-winner to add to our pile [emoji106] we're so luckyProbably bottom 4. Tommy looks like a 2nd round type talent.
Let's compare the midfield in 2025:
Cripps = Daicos
De Koning > Cameron (Cameron durable, TDK not)
Walsh = De Goey (both have question marks over durability)
Cerra = Crisp (Crisp durable, Cerra not)
Smith < J. Daicos
Acres = Sidebottom
Hewett = Pendlebury
Docherty = Mitchell (both have question marks over durability)
Who are the next level for Carlton to match up against Lipinski and Perryman?
Both club have a batch of youngsters they'd be hoping to contribute, with Collingwood's players all a year or so older.
So IF Carlton get all their mids on the park for MOST of the year, they could match Collingwood.
If Carlton get a couple of injuries, it could get ugly.

Not sure what he's on today Walshy, everyone knows Sidey is miles better [emoji106] what a legendLmao Sidebottom = Acres [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Put down the crack pipe Fudger
It's cute how you play the timeline game to try and avoid the fact that your blose are not top of the competition over the course of the competition, the most pertinent bit.Just playing the timeline game, like your mates
So it's a sound workable strategy
Not part of that deal
It's a fun game that everyone plays
No no, I use it as a rebuttal when one of your mates rolls out a narrow timelineIt's cute how you play the timeline game

You can use it as a rebuttal but it works against you, coz all that matters is the competition over the course of the competition, you can ignore it if it makes you feel better. No no, I use it as a rebuttal when one of your mates rolls out a narrow timeline
I must have missed something, aren't we equal on flags won?
Once again, I respond to those that keep highlighting a particular timeline, start at the sourceYou can use it as a rebuttal but it works against you, coz all that matters is the competition over the course of the competition, you can ignore it if it makes you feel better.
i couldn't care less about meaningless metrics, what next, quarters won? It's all about flagsAs previously explained your blose are equal on flags but behind in every other team metrics, like GF's, finals won and finals played.
In your opinion of courseThat separates clubs in measure of success.
Post anything you like, happy to discuss current, leading into 2025, or past ecentsI can post the sheet again if you like, but A it's not thread relevant and B you wouldn't like it.
I enjoy browsing, it's entertainingOr you can ignore it like you want to, I'll let you ignore it.
Career wise Sidey is 10x Acres. Not sure what he's on today Walshy, everyone knows Sidey is miles better [emoji106] what a legend

I just put that to appease the Carlton desperadoes. In the same way I didn't have Daicos > Cripps. Or Pendlebury > Hewett. Not sure what he's on today Walshy, everyone knows Sidey is miles better [emoji106] what a legend

Where would Cripps rank in the list of 'match winners' across the AFL?
Because I have the following ahead of him, in no particular order:
Daicos
De Goey
Elliott
Gawn
Petracca
Neale
Hogan
Greene
Dangerfield
J. Cameron
Bontempelli
Heeney
Warner
13 off the top of my head, so probably circa top 20 when discussing 'matchwinners'?
Career wise Sidey is 10x Acres.
For 2025 though surely Acres is well ahead. Sidey looked half washed up last year.
So you agree 'matchwinner' wasn't the most suitable term for Cripps?Cripp's job is to be the best see ball get ball give ball player in the competition- there is NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER about his ranking regarding doing the hard work that fits that job description and being better at anyone else in the competition at doing it.
Still waiting for an explanation as to why you omitted 11 of Cripps 20 matchwinning performances...So you agree 'matchwinner' wasn't the most suitable term for Cripps?
Good to know.
Let's stick with 'see ball, get ball, give ball player'.
So if I say Daicos has been a matchwinner in 100% of wins he has played in at Collingwood, are you going to agree with that, or give me an explanation as to why he wasn't a matchwinner in the games you don't regard him as a matchwinner?Still waiting for an explanation as to why you omitted 11 of Cripps 20 matchwinning performances...
But we know you won't give one, simply because you don't have a good one.
