Pretty sure the thread was won by Carlton in 2024. The mods even changed the thread title to announce our win!
Unfortunately one of you just said "i couldn't care less about meaningless metrics, what next, quarters won? It's all about flags"

As none of you disagreed, last year was a draw [emoji106] as neither side scooped that all-important flag, any other measure is just "hunting participant ribbons" [emoji38] [emoji1787]

On metrics other than winning a flag?

Aren't you a "realist"?

No consistency with you blokes [emoji1] all over the shop

Knot tying hypocrisy.

But can we talk more about Cripps' matchwinning performance in their 61 point win over Richmond in round 16 last season?

What was the defining moment from that game that we'll be reminiscing about in 20 years time?

So complicated being a Carlton supporter. Keeping weird time periods in the front of your mind, jumping from one definition to another, trying to make something out of... well, Carlton.

Aren't you tired? Don't you yearn for simplicity? There is a better way. It's not easier, but it is simpler.

Exhibit [emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]:

I like how you didn’t even mention Nick kicking the winner against the blues last season, Walsh couldn’t go with him, daicos was just too smart and too quick.

More fluff pieces by the media as proof of Daicguls 'match winning performances'

I went through the ones Fudger omitted from Cripps catalogue and they all praised him equally for being the key figure in each win...

So we're at 20-10 now

Lmao remind me who won the norm smith that day?

Spider Man Lol GIF

Bobby Hill has more norm smiths than Curnow has good finals played in his career. Bobby actually kicked as many goals in the first half of that grand final as Curnow has in all the finals he’s played together. Even mcstay has kicked more goals in finals since being at Collingwood then Curnow has his entire finals career. 🤭

And yet the Pies would pack Bobby's bags themselves if there was a trade involving getting Curnow to the Pies...

So by my count that's 13 genuine match-winning performances from the great Nick Daicos in his first 70 games.

Number of match-winning performances nominated by the Carlton faithful in Cripps' first 70 games?

Sorry I didn't bother going that far back.

But given we're now counting 25 & 2 performances based off of 1 quarter of good footy I can go add another 20 odd of Cripps performances

More than happy for you to add any additional games where Cripps receives 3 Brownlow votes and 8 Coaches votes in a narrow win against the eventual premiers for that season, given that is the game you are referring to for Daicos...

Except when the fact that Collingwood has been the best club over the course of the competition.

Well then get back to the thread topic instead trying to fruitlessly reply willful igonorance of facts.

It's okay if you want to gloat over participant ribbons

So, 2025 should be a cracker, Pies understandably all chips in, could be a master-stroke, or a massive fail

Will be an interesting watch

Call em what you will, doesn't change the fact that those 'ribbons' separate clubs from equal premieships, as much you don't want to acknowledge it you can't escape it.

Not to mention one club has 5 spoons in the last 20 odd years and the other only has 2 in its entire history.
