Everyone said that about Dimma in 2016.

Yze in a no win situation.
With a list at full reset and not enough time to really get a true evaluation.
If we get crushed next year ,every game and play poorly ,maybe rethink.
But the list is loaded with kids who take years to put on the KGS and develop as players.

Whether very negative or positive, every Richmond supporter wants success again.

Hope fully the forum does not get personal with "eating our own" shenanigans.
I ignore all that BS and walk out with my Tiger tail raised high.
As if they read BF come on if they did Dow Sonz and the like wouldn't get a game like they shouldn't.

Good take , I think both balta and kozi are needed back in the side , at least kozi competes and he can take a grab . Not saying a thing on gibcus until he plays footy again , coming from fair way back
gray overtook kozi today kozi is pure spud with peel on.

predominantly due to ridiculous stand rule, the game has no flow players forced ad nauseum to listen to the gaffer and his/her whistle, its bonkers, theyve taken natural instincts outta the game ,its faaaarked,i hardlly watch since 2023
corporate takeover has ruined what was once the best game, now its not worth pissin on
How the fook did that fookwit Hocking ever get anyone to agree to this ridiculous stand rule is beyond me ....it truly is a fooking disgrace to the game !!!

No chance by 2027 of making finals. At least another 10 -15 players will need to be moved on and replacements will need to get some experience. 28-29 is the earliest we can hope for.
10/15 to be replaced?
By whom?
Role players replacing Role players.
Can you guarantee those will be better.
By the time that happens it'll be 2038

Imagine Dow plays round 1

Seriously how the **** he get another year over Cumbo?

Cumbo would’ve been 100x better in the middle
Last year dow snaked sonsie for the last mid rotation. While Ross was on the wing. Dow stayed uninjured all year..he is good back up Kmac 2 fully fit will go past Dow. I don't expect him to play at all.

Cumberland.. small fwd in Richmonds forward line.. what a unpleasant place to play. Interesting no other club snapped Cumberland up. Actually is he playing on the sunny coast?

So a fast turnover is better than giving yourself time to set up defensively.

If its at the cost of them being able to set up defensively & allowing our 18th ranked fwd line a chance of accidentally getting a goal - yes.

I don't know any successful gameplan the revolved around taking 15 seconds to kicked the ball from a standing start into the fwd 50.

If you want the team to plan their Inside 50 movement around setting up our defence for the rebound, then wtf are we doing???

The Cotchin rule.
Richmond win flags, rule changes are made.

The rookies sitting in the stands wouldn't have made a scrap of difference. We'd be even more disappointed if they had been out there and we'd now be hearing the "dud/delist" calls from the usual suspects.

We have some "last chance" players on our list. I expect some to take their chances (e.g. Banks, Sonz) and others will fall away (e.g. MRJ). That's footy. Don't waste your time worrying about the worst players in our squad.

Enjoy watching a few players in their prime. I'd love to see the very best of Hopper and Timmy T. when they are both up and about. I'm excited to see Ross play a season in the guts. None of them are A-grade, but they will have games where they are easily best afield for Richmond.

Above all else, don't look at the scoreboard. It's contest to contest. Watch for young players to find something they are good at and repeat it a few times per game. It's one of the joys of watching a team at "ground zero".

That missed non-contested mark by Samson in the goal square which bounced out his hands and turned into a goal made me feel really sad.

Made me laugh, bc I remembered someone on here describing him marking the ball like he has symbals for hands. Cant unsee it now

You hear the dribble from some supporters that Oh I just want to see some improvement in the young players here or there
to show we have made incremental progress. That is putting the cart before the horse.

High end young talent will naturally do that with minimal intervention

We have drafted a lot of high end talent and some big body contesting types.

What we need is a coaching plan that can integrate the types of mids we have drafted and a steadfast resolve to develop the game style. Not dragging your best players around the park just to fix the now, but have the resolve to build and keep your best players in their position and build from strength and not be concerned with the immediate. But you need a clear game plan to do that.

Good coaches who can innovate will produce solid game plans that will elevate and retain talent.

Its very vanilla what we have been shown so far.

Naturally having our brightest prospects out there sooner than later will help rather than hinder getting this show on the road

Not one of these drafted ELITE mids played, so makes it hard

It's the pre-season and we don't have our best FWD or best KPD with a big scoring shot mismatch against a top 10 side. Makes me think we will win 2-3 games.

It will take time and hurt a lot in the short term but not as long as the Wallace/Hardwick rebuild. Injuries permitting our draft haul looks elite, and picks 1 and maybe 2-5 will help. Then comes the 2026 draft where we can literally buy 4-5 elite picks. There will be a bidding war before Tasmania come in and we have the cash to win the auction. 2027/28 onwards I see us as a 2012/13 Richmond, on the eve of a good finals and contention run with the ability to buy in some free agents and money ball some flags.

I mean.... again.....

We didn't have our top 4 Draft picks out there....

We didn't Have Lynch, or Balta playing....

We lost Rioli... Martin... Bolton.. baker.. Graham... Lambert... Pickett..

And yet at half time had more/same score involvements and inside 50's

Yes it's going to be a long year, but what The heck you people expecting????
