You can apply that to a LOT of our players today, some of the turnovers we produced did my head in today in perfect conditions

Trust me I agree our so called skilled players think they are way better than they are with their skills. Quite a few need to get it through their thick heads to play the game within their capabilities. Use the short kicks and for goodness sakes forwards lead at the ball. Why did it take Ladhams who is a ruck to lead at the ball!

Thought he had a few glaring errors.
Yeah thought he did some good things but then comically turned it over (wasn’t alone there). Was a sort of half okay performance from Rowy who did tackle all day long but needs to clean up the disposals or lower the eyes and find a runner who uses it well
Agreed, you get a mixed bag from Rowy but his contest work and presure late I felt was important.

I think just stick with ladhams then. Grundy so so slow and ineffective.

Was really impressed with Ladhams and if we go the one ruck with McLean/Amartey/Logan he’s the most agile and has forward craft. Thought Ladhams beat the opposition ruck when it mattered

Just handball more often or know the limitations more

People saying Grundy had a poor game are just salt s**ts that need a slap in the face. 38 RC for Grundy compared to 30 for Ladhams and Grundy had 16 more HOs and 9 more hit outs to advantage.

Grundy was getting us a HOTA every 3.45 ruck contests whereas Ladhams was around the every 15 ruck contests.

Lets even account for clearance differential between Grundy and Ladhams, its still 3.45 compared to 6 (surprised Grundy didn't have a clearance tbh).

Grundy has shown time and again he is the #1 ruck

He got better as it went it . I think they decided to do a big shift each in the last quarter and Ladhams had like 8-10 on the bench before Grundy subbed off, both could just go for it, good coaching

I wanted us to go more defensive down back and didn't like us drafting a half back, but Bice looks like a good pickup (didn't doubt the talent), especially with Cunningham and Fox down anyway, and other half back options underwhelming and/or getting suspended.

Maybe others will need to unseat him instead, even if he has to move up to the wing. Plus some good defensive efforts at times too.

Something is not right with Grundy. He might be crook. It might be mental. He looked like he was going to chuck early in the game but he battled on. I just hope the bye helps. He's better than we're seeing ATM.

It was definitely not “perfect conditions”.

It was (very) hot and sweaty. The players were incredibly fatigued.

It was a scrappy game, but I thought that was due to a combination of the hot weather and the desperation of both sides.

Bice didn't look flustered at all when the game was on the line.Ladhams was good and didn't have a brain explosion this week. Jordon , Wicks and McLean had good games. Hamling looked very solid and it is a mystery why he didn't get a look in last year.
Was an ugly game to watch neither side looked like they would take the game by the scruff of the neck.
Good win to get away from home but there needs to be a significant improvement against North who looked decent today.
This week we celebrate a whole lot of new number ones

Cox : Total games won
Cox : Maximum games won in a season

Bice : Total goals kicked
Bice : Maximum goals kicked per game

Ladham: Weeks without accidental-brain-explosion
Ladham: Number of brains

Hamling: Total number of winning games (with Swans)

Had to try something and Grundy had given everything (still probably a little underdone tbh) but Grundy still is the best ruck we have by a country mile and is better than Ladhams/Green even at 80% fitness

Agree , we just need to manage him, I think Ladhams has improved though

At least Pistol Pete has showed he's a capable back-up option if we need to give Grundy time to get himself right. Not resting him last year really came back to bite towards the end of the season after be was elite through the middle of the season.

If Grundy gets back to his best it I can't overstate how much of a better side it will make us. Just hope we learn from last year and don't run him into the ground again.

I was thinking he could mature into a nice wingman as his experience and his tank grows. Hard, fast, smart and accurate. He created the time to assess his options and went bang. The opportunity to kick a first goal in AFL can be unsettling (just ask Lewis Jetta).

Not sure if Pistol is the right nickname for someone with a reputation for blowing his brains out.

Pis___ Pete. Fill the blank and win a prize.

Whatever is wrong with Grundy wont be fixed with a bye its his 3rd game back after 6 month layoff..
Depends what it is. If it's a tummy bug it might well be. If it's something more debilitating like glandular fever probably not. Pretty sure Cox wouldn't have played him if it was an injury of some sort of something really serious. Didn't look like it.

Too often Pistol Pete is Pontificating Pete, like the decision functions of his brain were damaged when the explosives were sewn in. Today he was more Peter Prompt
