Should be 5 weeks + and it was clearly intentional/ severe / high.

It wont be though as the Hawks are looked after from the top down AFL house wise.

Just a dog act taking out the Cats best ball user illegally with a game in the balance. Makes for the Red Card discussion more relevant also.

Horrible hit
Crosses line from clumsy to deliberate
You need to leave some room for the Barry Hall hits, that's a deliberate high contact and impact strike. This one is a careless footy act but maybe an opportunity to send it straight to tribunal?

Careless my arse.

He intended to hit him. The careless grade is the only thing Hawks supporters have to cling to and it is embarrassing.

It was a deliberate thug act /discussion.

Forgot hawks supporter it's got nothing to do with it. I wanted him dropped last week anyway.

Even in that footage you can see that it's a body check to knock the ball free, a footy incident not an intentional strike. If carless, high impact and contact 3 weeks is too lenient, maybe straight to tribunal is the way to go.

cant base suspension on how long the other player misses otherwise you have someone slide in below the knees and break someones leg or knee and be suspended for 25+ games. thats ridiculous.
No but a hit like that should by 5-6, not 3.

So you reckon a guy intentionally hitting another bloke with a swinging round arm fist in the head and knocking him out is worth 3 weeks

And pushing a ball into another players face is worth 2?
It wasn't a push, look at that still shot and the hand position on the ball.

Not saying it's in the same ballpark as Nash who should probably get 3 (would be happy for 2 as a Hawks fan).

Aitkens knee drop Jai in the back of the neck / head should get a week and Smith a fine

The thing is, and I know they don't look a this, Miers is probably going to miss the next 2 games because of that hit.

So if Nash gets 3 it essential means he will miss half a game more then the victim of his cheap shot.
That's just a circumstantial thing. Should a player receive a week less if they are reported for an action on a player who has a bye the following week?

It's a slippery slope there, and take your emotion out of it, it wasn't a cheap shot, it was a clumsy action.

3 weeks. high, careless, severe.

he is swinging for the ball but just misses it. similar to scrimshaw earlier in the year

smith should also get 1-2 weeks. intentional, high, low-med impact.... but will probably get nothing. if he threw then ball the only a fine. but it was a strike cos he never released the ball.

It was not careless it was deliberate.

We need to ask ourselves if we want to be seeing this stuff every week.

Yes Barry Hall was worse, to be honest that should be seven or eight weeks
