They're one of the worst sides in the comp at generating a score from D50 (15th), but one of the best at scoring from turnovers (4th), particularly in their front half.

Our path to potentially turning this into a game:

• Beat them at stoppage
• Over-possess the football coming out of D50, working our asses off to create short-medium targets by foot up the ground. I'd have uncontested marks as one of our KPI and we want to comfortably beat them in this stat.
• Maximise inside 50's per disposal chain out of D50 - in other words, really limit risk with our disposals and focus on limiting turnovers. Break in case of emergency should be LDL outside and get it out for a throw in.
• If we cause a turnover anywhere else, move it quick into our forward 50.

I'd run with this game plan and adjust from there.

Yeah I agree with this.....he makes some pretty bad decisions as a backman as well.

Yeah, I think Corr has given away a lot of free kicks, lots of different reasons why. I also think Comben has made a lot of silly decisions as a backman resulting in easy opposition goals.

I was kind of thinking (hoping Corr out) move Comben forward, and play both Dawsons. Can't see that happening.

I think the team has really missed WilPhills defensive inside work at CBA's, defend first, then win the ball and distribute. I think he is very under rated in that regard, so really hope he does come in and gets a good prolonged run at it, the way Sanders has at the dogs this year.....slow starts but is really buidling some great games now, and appears to be better with Bont back in taking pressure off.....who knows, perhaps WilPhil can play better with Wardlaw back in as well.

Also struggle with how we can select both Daniel and Fisher in that backline ( I thought Hardemann offered more defensive pressure when he came on as sub previously, and was unlucky to miss last week).....Fisher inj has solved that, but with Archer out to start the year, Luke McDonald has been about the only lock down defender consistently making and winning contests.

Okay, after the week and reviewing the replay pretty closely. Couple of big droppings should send the message. We'll get done by 100 with this side but it's better than 80 and pissweak efforts being reinforced. Yes it's drastic and no it's not saying the replacements are more talented.

I’m on board with Comben forward. I would like to see him play CHF with license to get high up the wing to provide a target in transition. Get a runner there with him in support.

I personally would drop Zurhaar and Logue and bring in Pinkus and K Dawson. Archer for Fish if fit, if not Hardeman.

I’ve seen many a comment here about the NMFC curse… which apparently started when the Carey/Stevens ‘incident’ occurred.

I’m convinced that if there is a curse, it can only be ended by winning in South Australia. Hear me out:

Our last game prior to the Carey incident? A loss to Adelaide (22 August 2021).

Who did Carey then go and play with? Adelaide

Since then we’ve lost any final we’ve played against an SA-based team (by a record margin in 2007), never won at the Adelaide Oval, and the only thing we ‘Gather Round’ in SA is a firepit of awfulness.

In recent years a glimmer of hope was the recruitment of JHF from, of course, SA. We all know how that turned out.
