Soo what about the 3rd whistle blower? What was his performance assessment?

There is always the benefit they get from grey areas as well. I wonder if they looked a consistency or just "technically correct"

Most rules are so grey and subject to interpretation that they can justify just about anything post hoc.

Half the time the rules are open to an umpire justifying their decision by using their infallible mind reading powers to put it back on the player, e.g. "he ducked into it trying to milk a free", "he showed insufficient intent to go for/get rid of the ball" etc.

It's the perfect game for psychopathic power trippers and corrupt swindlers to officiate at the highest level and get away with shit with almost total immunity.

I wonder how many of them are speed camera operators outside of football. Sounds like the perfect CV for them too.

As Buget pointed out, there were four umpires. So the AFL are saying that 50% of the umpires getting "most" decisions correct is a pass. In other words 50% of the umpires getting most of their decisions wrong is fine.

I completely forgot about the four umpire thing.
Telling they only mention the two new umpires.

Pairing two rookies in the same match wasn't the brightest of ideas.
The AFL is poorly run overall. They are lucky that most Aussies love the game and will’keep on showing up. The umpiring is a disgrace and bordering on cheating at times.

Its not bordering. The Afl is run to suit their agenda & they are doing a fine job of that. Hopefully the whole thing comes crashing down soon. I use to watch many games each week & enjoy them. Now, other than Port games, I'm just not interested. Hate the umpiring & hate the commentary. Both are unprofessional & disgusting.
