Berry has a good record being an impact sub.

If him and/or fit Pedlar replace Crouch in the 23 that's a decent step forward.

Thought it was a good crowd.

Can always tell when youre sitting (or standing) at the pub pre game. It was packed.
Yeah I said 45k

Its when the corners of the Riverbank are full you know its good

I genuinely don't understand this fascination with crowd numbers. Why is it announced? Why are people applauding it?
Who gives a sh!t, other than the Vic flogs who use it to go on and on about how Victoria is the centre of the universe.

It's the best way we have to objectively quantify vibes in my view.

Sometimes there's a good feeling about, sometimes there's a shit feeling about, you know it in the air, but have a hard way of describing it.

The good has been done.

Bad:

Inside 50s were poor for the most part. We butchered (as Roo called it) a lot of easy i50s and should have really won by more. Can't keep doing that against good sides.

Dumb things. Rankine throwing the ball away from the umpire (why???). Keane's deliberate out of bounds. We seem to do really obvious dumb things that get us in trouble. Hopefully it's just an experience thing. Really frustrating.

The other GOOD I haven't seen mentioned was the pressure around the ball. What illustrated this for me was the number of intercepts, tackles, smothers and little interferences when the Carlton players were trying to transition the ball at speed by hand or foot. We were very good in tight.

Happy to see Smith in - IF HE PLAYS LIKE HE DID ON SATURDAY. Beware the early summer - a couple of good games then the form fades and we stick with them using memory. We should learn from Crouch, who absolutely deserved his spot last year but has returned to his old ways this year. His injury is convenient because it gives us a chance to put others - Peatling - in his role and perhaps for him to rebuild his form during rehab. I would think its his last chance.

Delighted to see Worrell's excellent game rewarded and also for Milera to be noticed in what I think was the best game he's played since I can remember.

And what can you say - ROB belted the million dollar wunderkind TDK. Sadly we know it won't last.

1 thing that Rachele does well that is hard to quantify is kicking to the advantage side of his forwards (particularly on deep kicks I50).

For years it's been a source or infuriation of me. Watching a kick go to a 1v1 battle in our forward line, only to see the defender have the ball placed on his outside hip and take the easy intercept. This game Josh had multiple deep I50s where he put the defender in an impossible position with his ball placement.

The list is in a good position where they can bring in Smith from the SANFL based on form.

Good clubs have good senior pros leading the youngsters and providing list depth.

Smith, Laird, Walker should go round again in 26, if they play SANFL, good, that means the kids have forced out AA quality players.

Smith wont, Tex PROBABLY wont, Laird will.

If Smith and Tex wanted to go around again and they continue their current form and fitness, I would happily give them a list spot - assuming neither are demanding stupid money.

North and St Kilda to name two clubs, prematurely retired their senior positions and they've been paying for it ever since.

I disagree - its how you define their role as senior

Tex looked so wooden Saturday and Smith only got a contract due to triggers

I think we still have enough left over that we can move them on

Some posters are simply tired of a poster becoming combative and turning a reasonable talking point into a multi-page shit fight fiesta
Perhaps you need to calm down and review the turn of events and those who are claiming the high ground also should.

I simply asked why Rachelle didn’t get more midfield time, a reasonable talking point.

This wasn’t turned into “you’re complaining and looking for a negative”

This type of response turns it into shit shows, not me.

Apology accepted in advance.

I doubt we will with Smith, it's hard to justify giving a 32 year old another contract when they've been out of the best 22 for 15 months at that point.

At this point, I would expect that Tex is still on our list in 2026, if he wanted to continue. Even if his form craters, it's having a key forward that you need to guard against to pair with Thilthorpe/Fogarty that holds value, and Tex is clever enough to be a goal-a-game third tall even if the body starts to fail, which you can carry if you've got two monsters as the headline.

From what I saw, George created a fair talking point, ie Rachele's CBA clearance rate and lack of attendances and all that happened from there was he was shouted down by the sunshine and rainbows crew as complaining. It wasn't George that was combative, it was the responders to his talking point.

In terms of that talking point, I'm hopeful that it's just the beginning and we see Rach in there at least that much in future games and he becomes a permanent part of that rotation. Hopefully what we saw (although I didn't) on the weekend was the minimum CBA's for Rachele. He always looked like he'd be a useful player to have a run through there, but for some reason we shelved it. Looks like we've unshelved it, hopefully it continues. .
Thanks and that’s exactly what happened.

It’s ironic and laughable that jenny61_99 who caused it is now liking the posts having a dig at me.

Kudos for keeping it factual. One of the easier sets to break down. I find it quite amusing when posters definitively claim which coach gave the votes. There's just no way you can tell.
I recall hearing once that a coach confessed he clean forgot to include his MVP in the votes!

Not bad for someone some posters here were saying is out of form last week.
Votes appear fairly accurate,
