I agree. It's either Ross Lyon or Ken Hinkley that is the best coach in the AFL

Meh.... Cuts both ways to be fair. I do recall saints fans sinking the boots on the dockers in 2016 when they were 0-10 and crippled with injuries. LoLIt's a sanctioned kick a club when they're down thread.
Which Saints fans are you listening to? That phrase is a massive meme on our board already, all of us want the club to draft mids. It was bad luck and the fault of draft rorts that we couldn't take any pure mids at our picks - at least none that we rated at those picks.Saints should have just quietly moved the magnets around at 3/4 time against Carlton last year in round 24 and they would have Harvey Langford running around.
Ever since picking Billings ahead of the Bont the Saints have some kind of pathological aversion to drafting a pure midfielder.
If I hear one more Saints fan saying that some random half assed flanker is "going to go into the midfield in a few years" I'll spew up

Club has been cursed with its top picks the last decade or so:saints definitely need another forward target not named jack higgins. desperately need dan butler to come back, jury is out on max king since he’s presently TBA.
essendon's track record hasn't been stellar (though zach reid is proving the exception).Club has been cursed with its top picks the last decade or so:
Billings, McCartin, Clark and Coffield and now King.
Hard to argue they were poor picks at the time, but all of them have been proven to be failures of differing degrees.
Can take a decade to remedy when you butcher your first rounders like that. The good news is that recent selections appear to be excellent in Wilson, Collard, NWM and Owens - albeit an NGA pick. Too soon to tell on Travaglia and Taure obviously.
Yep, Essendon the other club that springs to mind when talking about missing on first round picks.essendon's track record hasn't been stellar (though zach reid is proving the exception).
Caddy will be a playeressendon's track record hasn't been stellar (though zach reid is proving the exception).
i can't post how he makes me feel, but i'm a very big fan.Caddy will be a player

Nah he was still around when we picked him up.Yeah he looks good.
Is he the first pick in the post Dodoro world?
Late picks and rookies have been incredibleI don’t think we can be trusted with early draft picks, we just waste them.
We should focus on trading them out for later and/or rookie draft picks which allows us to get the likes of Marshall, Wilkie, Sinclair, Sharman, Boxshall, Owens, Garcia etc
I think travaglia and nwm will play mid in 2-3 yearsSaints should have just quietly moved the magnets around at 3/4 time against Carlton last year in round 24 and they would have Harvey Langford running around.

Nas, Phillipou......?
That's a unique view to look atIn that respect maybe Longmuir is a genius coach - developed Brayshaw, Serong, Young, Treacy, Amiss, Clark and so on.
Billings.... Yeah looked ok with his pace. Other than that he is average.Club has been cursed with its top picks the last decade or so:
Billings, McCartin, Clark and Coffield and now King.

The view or opinion that Ross Lyon never played youth is and was already thrown out the window .This is a straw man. You're asserting that Lyon supporters contend that only Lyon or good coaches develop young talent.
See there is aSpot on.
The club is absolutely heading in the right direction.
We've taken 18 picks in the national draft across the previous 4 drafts. 8 of those picks played last night.
Prior to that, St Kilda only had 4 picks in 2 years (2019 and 2020) including only one inside the top 40.
Those 2019 and 2020 draftees would be entering their primes, instead we've got Brad Hill who deserves to be dropped.
Can't change the past. Just move forward, keep drafting and playing the kids, develop them, build strong culture so they stay, and see where we're at in 2 years time.
butterfly effect with the Brad Hill trade.Carlton in no mans land too, yikes. Probably even worse off than the saints with their age profile as they should be contending now.No... They really don't.
Pipe down bonorCarlton in no mans land too, yikes. Probably even worse off than the saints with their age profile as they should be contending now.
Sam Walsh 'the goat' with a miserable 3 score involvements and 100 something metres gained
Pipe down bonor
Your team's only hope of success is pinned on pinching our players and we suck almost as bad as you lot
