watch Steele when the ball clears the area by 3 meters doesn't even pretend to try

Embarrassing he is the Captain and you dont recover from games like that today

And just think we train 1 less day a week than any other club

There have been many on here that continue to say that he's been the poorest of our mids.

Well Ross has had a number of opportunities to drop him and others.
Make the example. Don't give my smart arse comments. Tell it straight. Is Steele lazy? Or is this the best we will have for the year due to his knee.

If Steele isnt doing whats expected then drop him.
If not then Ross is at much at fault as anyone.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we get the email from the President stating that it’s on everyone from the top down to find out if there’s more they could be doing to help the club move forward.

The same email we got 5 years ago. 3 years ago and 2 years ago.
Trainee receptionist not passing on Joffaboy’s letters??

Collard is miles away

Sharman when not taking contested marks is a liability. His defensive pressure is non exsistent

Steele is probably past it

McLennan looks nowhere near it

Wilson second year blues. Needs a spell

Windhager non existent. Should’ve played more mid

Garcia didn’t show up

Guys who played under 50 games are going to do that. That's on coaches. Selected too many kids and stacked the backs with sun 20 game players.

Pressure needs to be put on him. He got Ross back and we have gone backwards.

I think we might be the only team in the league that doesn't have a clear game plan. There seems to be zero direction and zero cohesion between players in regards to how we're trying to play.

Are we trying to play slow footy and deliberately kick long bombs onto our forwards' heads?

I thought we were meant to be a fit running team, yet we get carved up on the outside.

Whenever someone gets the ball, they look too scared to be the one to **** up the kick so they just pass the buck onto the bloke next to them, which just gets us caught up in these rubbish handball chains that inevitably lead to a turnover or stoppage.

I just don't get what we're trying to achieve by playing this way.
Yep the handball to a guy standing still looks like hit potato
Just rubbish football

I know we have a young list but even our younger players generally lack the phyiscal development of their opponents. I said as much in the game day thread, the size and strength difference today was the major differential in our loss. Our lighter bodied players are too easily moved off the ball and as a result get jumpy, fumbly and fall off tackles. Physical strength grows confidence and that helps kids play like men. I think the club has over looked that importance, in its efforts to have a strong running side.

We cant expect to win games relying on so few players eg Marshall, Higgins, Wilkie, Sinclair, Nas, Macrae and Owens. They have a go every week the rest pick and chose when they will turn up. Jack Steele is having less and less impact every week but at least he chases and tackles like a leader should. Then you have Brad Hill who for a senior player is as soft as butter when under pressure, he cant tackle and his decision making is terrible unless he has space. I gather the coaches have told his team mates to give him the ball when they get the chance, but Hill is often under pressure and can basically garuantee a turnover. It sends all the wrong messages to the younger players, the coaches are asking to put their bodies on the line.

As a club we made a decision to off load some senior bodies and go down the youth path, thats fine but at least support them to become physically ready for the game. A case in point is Hugo Garcia who was playing like a junk yard dog in the VFL, but in the AFL he is fumbling second guessing and has lost the confidence to attack the ball. He just doesnt have the size or strength to match his game at the top level.

Today highlights my belief that we are a bottom 4 list, we have far too many holes on our list and have put far too much pressure on the few that are having a go. Injuries to critical players have just highlighted how shallow our list is at present. God help us if we ever lose any of the above mentioned for any length of time. The club got it very wrong telling supporters they could rebuild on the run, with the list we had prior they were always going to bottom out. You wonder if given last years draft strengths whether they would have been better having the down season last year.

Do we spend anytime in the gym at all.

The Eagles looked so much bigger and stronger.

For a fast team we looked extremely slow and the eagles looked the faster team.

Our skills were deplorable and barely AFL standard.

I just don’t understand how we could look so inept and slow and weak against the bottom side.

That was a really hard watch and I didn’t enjoy a single minute of it.

it’s more enjoyable watching a neutral game than a saints game atm and that’s really sad to admit.

Hard to give Collard a hard time in my view. He's a crumbling forward with no KPF in sight. Our whole forward line is so dysfunctional at the moment, need to stick Caminiti or Keeler down there just for size. Would suggest bringing in Heath and playing Roma down there but I don't think Heath is gonna make it and Roma doesn't deserve to have to play out of position.

Not giving Membrey a contract was one of the worst decisions in recent memory.

I don’t want to see Hill/ Byrnes/ McLennan next week. I’m sick to death of Brad Hill in particular, he is an absolute liability now. Byrnes is so in decisive it’s almost impressive. McLennan was a strange selection and yeah went as well as expected.

Hard to see where to go from here, I’d much rather watch Boxshall, Trav, Tauru, Barrat etc play than the bunch of passengers we have at the moment.

I know.

Just feel lots on here overrate our kids.

**** we’ve got some good ones, but they aren’t going to be at their absolute best every week.

It’d be good if our senior players shared the load.

We shouldn’t be relying on guys like mitch, nas so much already

Its systemic across the whole list, the only bloke I would trust to stick a big tackle at the moment is Stocker.

Our strength and conditioning needs to be seriously looked at. We'd have to be one of the weakest teams out.

Question needs to be asked… do they really think 1 less day is working for us…

The list managers haven't got us enough cover for injury, most players have no interest in winning matches and our skills are bottom 4. Some serious arse kicking and reality checks need to happen. This was probably the darkest day for us in 10 years.

Steele is finished, but 14 tackles suggests he is still giving effort...

Macrae was horrid again today, slow, sloppy and doesn't defend. Can see why Bevo moved him on.

Collard has been gifted games all season, I have seen nothing to suggest that he will make it as a footballer.

Sharman unsighted, his bad games are very very poor.

Feel for Owen's playing as our main key forward each week, he almost looks broken.

Wilson's aerobic capacity sees him put up decent numbers and be able to hit the scoreboard, but he is genuinely scared of contact and so fumbly.

Garcia is a bang average footballer, don't see him making it long term. Overrated by most on here. His skills and descision making deplorable, along with his mate windy.

Byrnes tries his guts out, and I can see he cares, but is a deer in the headlights, and another shocking skilled player with poor descion making.

Don't even wanna get started on hill..

Marshall, Wilkie and Sinclair are all lion hearted who rarely play a bad game.

Worst thing is, we have bugger all injuries, but absolutely nothing coming through in the reserves atm.

some of the expectations for the club over the next week is pretty extreme.

How do you all expect them to review the match, hit the gym, do two training sessions all within the 16 allocated hours they’ve got?

We are asking too much of them

They need to fit visualisation, yoga and pilates in too.

1-5 in our last six. Clearly heading to where we need to be.

Please for the love of god no second half resurgence, no “pursuing excellence” in meaningless games, cop our medicine for the next 3-5 years and hopefully come out of it with a chance of actually going somewhere.

Lucky I got a FaceTime immediately after the game from my gorgeous little 15 month old twin granddaughters in Perth - I needed the cheering up after the back and forth with my in-law, the Eagles supporting grandpa during the game. ( Luckily I really like him).

My poor son, surrounded by them, just had to marry a Perth girl 🙄

As for the game. What game? Never happened.
