It's tempting to put Wags back to replace Cooper but I'd like him to run with Mr Anderson

Or maybe with this size difference, give that task to Raz which will free up Wags

Noddy in for Coops, no other changes

The upcoming match will be made very interesting by the token that it will be raining. Obviously we had the wet weather game down pat against Port, so this might very well work to our advantage.

As always, another insightful preview from Noah at the 'Freo Faithful' pod.

I feel like that will favour GC, because Witts will win the ruck taps, and head to head you’d think that GC will win more contested footy and clearances.

Also Hardwicks messy surge style doesn’t rely on perfect disposal.

If we had Young he’d be perfect because of his size and groundball ability.

If we win it’ll be a great win.

Sir Banners of Beaconsfield is imbued with magic crystals , once those magic crystals run down he gets taken over by a demon ….. and that demon SUCKS ASS at football , he then must retreat from the field of battle to recharge his magic ( WAFL )

UNLESS he can manage his magic expenditure in a more efficient way ( SUB )

In Aish
Sir Banners SUB forevermore

It is the same vs Port away.

We will need to break these runs if we are to make finals.
Yes and no. I'd be happy with this weekends game if we continue our better form and the effort is there. A drop off to the GEE and STK games performance would be just terrible.

Bringing in a rehabilitating, undercooked and injury-prone Darcy into an unfamiliar surface in rainy conditions.. hmmm.. What could possibly go wrong? 🤔
He'll probably play minutes equal to a half, then the sub will come on in the third. If we are any chance we can't let Jackson get beat up in the first 3 quarters..

To play finals, need to win this game.
Players will know that, so will coaching staff.
I'm tipping an upset
Say we lose and are 6-6.

We have 7 games at Optus and all winnable, hardest games being the Hawks and Lions. The rest are all teams below us.

Away games against PTA, COL, SYD, WBD

Not so dire.

Gold Coast are a very good team. Stacked with talent, have a coach who lets them play to their strengths and have really benefited from the inclusion of Dan Rioli and John Noble over the off season.

Their talent has been harnessed and their results are outstanding. I believe they have only played twice at their GC home ground too. Always hard to beat there even when they were crap.

It will take a massive team effort for us to win this one. I hope for a win but without much conviction. Hopefully we play well and stay in the contest.

PS I had a crack at the AFL ladder predictor earlier this week and had GC finishing in the top 2. Results of my predictions can vary from actual results however so take that with a pinch of salt.

I'm not sure Anderson is taggable, not by Wagner anyway. He's more likely to try to clamp Miller, but that's a tough task as well as Miller is known to be one of the most elite endurance beasts in the comp.

We may just find ourselves in a game where the midfields go head to head.

I am intrigued to see our game plan vs Gold Coast. We need to start well. If Plan A doesn't work, plan B could result in a blow out trying to catch up, like the Geelong game.

Pressuring the ball will be key to supporting the defence and getting good turnovers to punish.

Dare I say it, Darcy would be really handy if he was in good form for this one.
