So the whistle was blown for the free Ginnivan picked it up and then dropped it. Did Hawthorn not get 50 for a player putting the ball on the ground as he got up to hand it back before?

Wrong colours. But don't critisise the umpires, you will hurt their feelings and they will sue you.
