Maybe an odd observation, but this game reminds me a lot of our game against Sydney in round 8 2023
A frustrating game where we led for most of the game but gave away soft goals through our poor defending. However the winning margin in both games were convincing in the end as we piled on the goals in the last quarter, despite the game being much closer then what the final margin said.

Nick Daicos was also heavily tagged in that game by Ryan Clarke and was targeted just like he was against the Saints (Both times failed).

The only difference is that the Swans game had Checkers finally kick 5 goals so that automatically makes it 1000 times better

Fly's presser

Were you pleased you stood up to the challenge from the Saints, especially after a tight first three quarters?

Were you rusty coming out of the bye?

What's the extent of Beau McCreery's injury?

The Windhager-Daicos battle lived up to expectations. What was your assessment of it?

How big was Nick Daicos' goal in the last quarter given the pressure came off after that?

Is that as well as the team has handled the Nick Daicos' tag with his performance and the way his teammates supported him?

Darcy Cameron's intercepting ability is widely talked about, but his forward presence was just as equally damaging?

Was there a directive in terms of your discipline behind the ball knowing the Saints want to get numbers back and not to get sucked up into that and maintain that defensive structure?

Just on Darcy Moore, it was him, Jamie Elliott and Bobby Hill that were really important players and they were right down in terms of possessions around the middle of the game. How pleasing was it you had some sort of unevenness in some respects around tonight but you still got the job done?

Just on that, the cameo of Jamie Elliott at the end of the third quarter was significant in the context of the game?

The role of Patrick Lipinski playing more forward of the ball was big and it felt like you really missed him on King's Birthday?

It feels like you talk about him every week, but given his performance today how loud is Charlie West knocking on the door to play in the senior team?

Billy Frampton has been the stable figure down back when other players around him have been in and out. How important has he been for your team?

When the game was in the balance, the player Windhager was responsible for stood up and won the game.

Exactly.I thought the same thing when he won those two clearances. He could well be the answer to our centre clearance problem.
He is perfect for playing midfield in a dome, not sure he can be anywhere near that clean when the ball is greasy and he needs to pick it up rather than bobble it up to himself.

While i despise Lyon, I hope he stays where he is (for the same reason that I wish all the best in coaching longevity to Voss at Carlscum).

Both of them are a curse for their respective clubs.
I love the bloke he gave us Luke Ball for nothing that helped with a flag
Now he's givin us Tim Membrey for nothing and hopefully another flag

send him overseas end of the year to sort out his hammies and calves and we've got a JDG replacement with slightly less goal sense

Love watching Jeff White’s analysis

So much cool shit you never notice. Even at the ground.

Reckon he’d make a fantastic Oppo coach

Lyon is a whiny not very good failure whose only elite trait is finding excuses why nothing that goes wrong is his fault.

As such he is the perfect distillation of what St Kilda is and represents and they are so right for each other its almost fate.

Will WCE bother - have they been tagging?

Next time there is a hard tag though, Bruz will be back... I think he'll get some very short stints through the midfield. Then later JDG will be back too - also with some stints through the midfield.
WC will tag with a witch's hat.

I can’t remember who he ran with/tagged, but Brady Hough for WCE has done the job before. Think Nick will be too strong, too smart and too fast for him though!

Ross Lyon is taking a leaf out of Donald █████'s playbook.
Windhager was clearly kneeing, pinching, slapping Naicos throughout the match, no doubt as Ross the toss instructed him to.
Now Ross the Toss wants to claim that Windhager was the victim of unfair decisions?
Yeah, just like Iran is the aggressor and poor little Israel and the US are victims of unfair decisions by Iran's supreme leader.
I know the scale is totally disproportionate, but the basic modus operandi is very similar.
Never admit guilt. Instead, attack, attack, attack!
Almost as if Ross is being mentored by Roy Cohn.
