I heard him speak about the Curtin extension today, he mentioned that he still has a lot to work on... why does he feel the need to say anything like that after an such a positive announcement.

It clearly doesn't seem to upset the players, but yeah I find it quite draining and uninspiring. I was waiting for him to just say something like 'Dan's going to be an absolute gun'.

No confidence in his own game plan no confidence in young players.
Well I don't have confidence in Nicks... but do in our players.

How has Schoenburg's form in the SANFL been lately? From reading bigman's training reports in the pre-season, him and Berry were the standouts in the seconds.

Thought he was shot however I feel I'd rather see him given another crack ahead of someone like Jones at this stage.

Yikes.

Disappointing no Draper or Edwards. Perfect opportunity vs a bottom 2 team at the G.

I’ll save my melt in case Murphy stays in.

I don’t mind Jones to come in. One last chance to see if he has something to offer otherwise is done.

Confused about Burgess in extended squad. If he’s there to offer ruck replacement surely McAndrew is the better option? If one of our forwards comes out, best we just go with one of them down and throw Curtin forward.

Uninspiring changes, but what is new.

This weeks team has been picked on experience, by the amount of games played.
Excluding Crouch who's injured, Sholl and Schoenburg.

Against 17th placed Richmond on 66%.
Nicks probably justifies his fascination with selecting experience by comparing it to the Pies team.

Not realising that the Pies experienced players are still performing, whereas ours are cooked, have better replacements in the SANFL, or just never had it.

9 games to go right? We aren’t going to be debuting players or playing young inexperienced players. This is all about this year now, pushing ahead with experience as we prep for finals.

The issue is Nicks is too much of a moron to realise experience doesn’t necessarily mean good like Murphy and he hasn’t taken into account should we get a run of injuries that we haven’t tested or given enough of our squad a taste of AFL this year

Was that the game roo used when hiring Walsh by getting him to go through it and say how he’d have handled it?
I'm pretty sure it was. We dropped games against west coast, Richmond and north in that 4 week stretch which could have easily been a candidate.

You'd have thought he'd be the in for Peatling last game if we had any intention of him playing in his preferred role.

Jones has had a few really top notch games. Not enough, for sure, but they were there. If he gets a go, watch us stick him at half forward, or back pocket, or some shit, and then drop him next week.

Brad Scott loves picking the experienced players too, in some part I put it down too they get along better with those guys, and have more in common, closer to age, have known longer more history etc.

With Adelaide pushing for top 4.Expect they likely mostly go experience over youth. But the high quality / first round youth will still be played when fit - Curtin, Draper etc.
At least the SANFL is still a pretty good development league for younger players.

In a weird way I’d like to see Jones get a crack. For no other reason than he was a pick 9 and we need to get something from 7 years of him running past the ball, squibbing and still looking like a schoolboy.

I don’t think he’s ever been a squibber he’s just never know where to run in the AFL
