Marshall is only 29.Marshall only has a few years left & they likely want him to play KPF.
TDK is the 6-8 year plan, I'm guessing.

Turns 30 this year.Marshall is only 29.
I dont St Kilda can play them both for 3-4 years.Turns 30 this year.
A few is 3-4. So in a few years, he'll be 33-34.
I think "only has a few years left" is a fair assumption/statement.

Cats don't have enough talent to offload to the Blues for what they'de want for Walsh. He is gettable . At 24, you don't wanna waste your time at that shit truck of a club.
He is from the south western district (close to Warrnambool).Geelong again![]()

Which one??He is gettable . At 24, you don't wanna waste your time at that shit truck of a club.
Watching TDK closely the last month he just going - The cash saints are offering just reeks of desperation not sure he moves the needle for them.It is funny - other than Walsh and some truly untested youth (e.g. Jagga Smith), I don't think there is anybody on Carlton's list I would actually want at our club.
Sure, Cripps is a star and would displace one of our current mids (Nash) for 1-2 years, but his best is past him.
We don't need Curnow, Weitering or McKay.
I'd definitely take TDK, but surely he's taking the massive cash that the Saints are throwing at him.
What a shithouse club that are going nowhere for the next decade.
His last month has been just ok, but he was pushing AA level over the first part of the season.Watching TDK closely the last month he just going - The cash saints are offering just reeks of desperation not sure he moves the needle for them.
that sort of coin should be for A graders which TDK isn't

I'vebeen thinking about it & I reckon they may be looking to bring in TDK as a FA, with designs on trading out Marshall.Watching TDK closely the last month he just going - The cash saints are offering just reeks of desperation not sure he moves the needle for them.

It’s what Cal does.Geelong again![]()
Agree the question is whether you dump tow first rounders to get him a year earlier or roll the dice and wait to get him for “free” in 2026Whichever team out of Hawthorn, Geelong or Bulldogs get Butters he instantly makes them top two with a bullet, that's how much he moves the needle.
Cal your bias is showing! Hates the Hawks! It’s what Cal does.

This might sound like an unreasonable thing to say but I don't think Cripps would replace Nash in our midfield. Their strengths and weaknesses are almost the exact opposite. Cripps is a traffic cone, it's part of the reason why Carlton suck so much when he's not getting the pill.It is funny - other than Walsh and some truly untested youth (e.g. Jagga Smith), I don't think there is anybody on Carlton's list I would actually want at our club.

Cripps is perfectly fine defensively. He's 17th in the league for average tackles per game (Nash =15th, Newcombe 18th).This might sound like an unreasonable thing to say but I don't think Cripps would replace Nash in our midfield. He might replace someone, but not Nash.
We already have 2-3 first round picks on the list we can't get into the team. There isn't really anyone on the list that we expect to need replacing in 2-3 years except maybe Sic/Barrass and we have Mraz/McCabe in place for that.
If Butters (or Reid) says "make me a Hawk" you are doing whatever you have to do. No point waiting a year when we are in challenge now mode.
I concur. Any picks we are getting in this draft will find it hard to break into the Top 23 unless it is a freak like Wiz. means they are going to be stuck in VFL for 2 yrs or so, so best option is to trade these picks for a Gun player or trade it for extra picks in 2026, like our top pick for a teens 1st rounder + F1 of North/Tiges/Eagles/Port. or do a trade like the ones Dogs did in 2023 to convert their pick 5 to 3+ 1st rounders and move them all to f1'sWe already have 2-3 first round picks on the list we can't get into the team.
