Can not see a way out.

It is a long dark tunnel and we would probably be seeing some light at the end of it if the club did not have its head up their ass for so long. The cool aid drinking makers and shakers that make up the "Essendon" people behind the scenes and in the media have continually misread the quality of the list and forced changes based on their own distorted views have screwed us. Their failure to see has killed us and we are now looking into the black with no light to be seen.
The only consolation for me is Vozzo and Rosa seem to know what the situation is and right now the board is behind them. If we stay the course then there is a chance we turn it around but there is a decent amount of current personal on the field that will need to be weeded out over the next 2 or 3 years before we can really go forward.

As long as we don't somehow win another game, were looking a decent chance at bottom 3. North and St Kilda both have a couple of very winnable games left and are only 1 and a half and one game behind us respectively.

Dream scenario would be North beating Melbourne this week, and then Saints beating Melbourne in 2 weeks.

Essendon fans need to move on from the last 20 odd years and let Rosa Scott and co do this rebuild properly. The fans are already turning on Scott when we have basically overachieved for a bottom 5 list for his tenure.
I get that us fans are inpatient, but only when the fans start adding pressure the media catch on and drum up more pressure on those in charge.
We are getting unprecedented development and if we can all just stay patient I think we are on the right track.

I don’t think full healthy this season we make the top 8, so finishing bottom 4 and getting those picks helps us tremendously.

Yep, north somehow beat the dees today and we probably get pick 3 (pre FA compo). Not to mention the impact on the dees ladder position.

I agree. The light for me is it is happening. Have been saying for 5 years that we where miles away from being a consistent top 6 side. The course we are on could also fail but the new direction had to be taken rather than just floundering along under the clubs view we where not far away. The real pressure will start next year when we will likely be poor again.

It’s actually an interesting question, the move of Merrett forward in the last was questionable, especially when we had two mid rotations out. Tsatas especially looked cooked in the last qtr

I think all players and Merrett wanted to win, but losing was the right move for our rebuild.

Our forwards sat behind their opponent most of the night and kept leading out the back, no idea wtf they were doing half the time. Merrett going forward suddenly produces a scoring opportunity because he lead at the kicker. Pretty sure Richmond also tagged Merrett after half time.

It’s like after May, Wright and Caddy kept flying for the same balls last week they were trying not to do that, but resulted in no one flying for anything.

Used to laugh at Richmond’s 30 years in the wilderness especially as growing up as a kid in the 70s they used to flog us most times. And now here we are two thirds of the way through our own wilderness. Can’t complain I guess as my kids are in their 20s and this is all they’ve ever known.

These on field performances are a result of a young list which has been devastated by injury.

But the club is finally getting things right off field.

A list manager who knows what they’re doing.
