Game day comes around early again, although in AFL House's usual stupidity, we're (again) not the only Friday night game on. Though clearly the game with the most impact on the upcoming finals series. Sydney Swans have had several key players return from injury, and are on a winning run that they would like to continue and try (maybe) to squeak into finals. For Giants, it is yet another big clash that we have to win to stay clearly in the top 8 ... a loss here and then to Bulldogs would possibly see us out of the 8. Given this is a home game, we simply need to win. Yes, that means defying recent history which sees us on the wrong side of the ledger against Swans. But records like that are made to be upset. We have our own retuning players, with key names on each of the three lines: Hogan, Kelly & Taylor. Will that be enough to triumph? We'll see tonight. Just get the job done, Giants, even if it is just by one point!

Let's be on from the start of the game and win this, GIANTS!

I feel very confident about this one.
Probably unjustified, but I think we might get a hold of them tonight.
I think we have a big advantage at either end.
They obviously have some star power, but I think a few weak points as well.

It's ridiculous that GWS v Sydney isn't the national FTA game.

I mean sure, if Victorians wanna watch the snoozefest of Bulldogs embarrassing the Bombers then you can have it on FTA for them.

But I can't for the life of me understand why they wouldn't put the Sydney Derby on FTA for the rest of the country.

Just a massive scheduling fail.

I have 4 tickets available.2 adults
Anybody need them?
It's too cold for wife, kids want to play ipad with their friends.
I went to Swans north though last week, a pretty ordinary game.
Surely Heeney is due for an off game.

The Sydney game is going to be hard. They normally lift against us, and this is the vital game that could determine their 2025 season. Essentially Sydney have to win all their games to make the finals (and hope some of the other results go their way). If they lose to us, any faint hopes of making the finals is gone for Sydney. An additional bonus if we win though! Go Giants!

Unpopular opinion (even say 2 hours before the game and an hour or two after the game) all games at ENGIE should have a direct line from Central on game days. I went to Geelong v Giants a few weeks back and you had to changeover at Lidcombe.
I doubt that’s unpopular.

Will be even better when the light rail and metro connect there

I’m coming from the game from Redfern station, which is considered to be Swan heartland and a random on a bike just yelled out to me “ Go Giants”.
It’s taking a while, longer than necessary due to some decisions in my opinion, but we are growing. Always used to get comments when I was working on the rail such as “Go Giants” and have co-workers at the mine talk to me about the club all the time

I've had similar.

The younger generations seem to gravitate towards the club I've found. I've been wearing a Giants hat out in the CBD and I've had the same reception at pubs/bars/central station.
