He had a good game yesterday in terms of ball use and ball handling, no denying it. But him running around with zero defensive accountability(literally zero tackles and 10 pressure acts which is incredibly low for a mid) created the defensive vacuum that allowed our guys to transition the ball with ease. We went D50 to F50 more than they did. If not for our extremely inexperienced forward line lacking our 3 most effective 2025 forwards(Lynch, Lalor, Campbell) we might have given them a fright based on those transition numbers. If Daicos tries that against finals teams he will straight out lose them finals single handed.
They have a whole system around him offensively, he's not there to be some defensive beast.

You whack off to player ratings. He had a 37.2, which was 50% better than the next player Vlastuin who played an insane game in his own right and well over double anyone else on the field.

daicos knows where to run and has high Iq added to this he rarely missed targets. our blokes waste opportunities daicos never does. ross, prestia, taratula and hopper couldnt carry his bags to training. dont tel me they are different players. that is the problem with our team we waste and turnover. it will take a couple of years to weed out these blokes. recuruit players with speed and skill, that is what I am after. and yes I love watching daicos.
And he is so fit, unless you can run with him toe to toe then good luck

Daicos has a licence to attack because he is so potent. His fellow mids are there to protect his lack of defensive pressure, just like we did with Dusty.

Personally I find it hard to really rate Collingwood. They had lost 2 in a row, and we are starting to find our feet and play pretty good football. Last week we scored massively from the defensive 50, or D50 to F50 as you put it, so that looks like our game plan starting to develop. Their experience especially in the forward half got them over the line, but when you have a player like Daicos, it makes it easier.

No team will let Daicos run free like that come finals. Our midfield is probably the slowest in the league, and he exploited that, which is why I have been harping on about Mansell running through there all season, to combat a player like Daicos.

our set shots at goal are a big let down. And our tall forwards are not that. gotta search for a tall.
Lynch is waay past his best.

Go and follow Collingwood then. Daicos is 3 years into his career. Many of our players have barely played 10 games.

This is embarrassing man. “He’ll lose his team finals”. Daicos is literally a premiership player playing like this.

He had a great game against a bottom 3 team who chose to put no effort into stopping him and instead backed themselves to hurt him going back the other way....with Ross, Sonsie and Hopper. And without our most effective forwards Lynch, Campbell and Lalor. It was the midfielder's equivalent of Cameron's 11 Joe the Goose goals v North.

Why do you think Richmond outperformed market expectations for scoring and margin in the match?

37.2

So let me get this straight. Collingwood had more missing than us. Cos 33yo Lynch is almost finished, but 35 & 36yo Howe and Pendlebury are integral to Collingwood's team. And Gibcus is coming off an ACL so we don't count him but we do count Degoey who played like a drain in the very few games he played this year. Makes sense mate. 🤣

Assume all Richmond players are fully fit and conditioned to play. Name your Richmond best 22 from our list to win a game for your life.....

Then do the same process with Collingwood.

Then compare the lists of who was missing yesterday for both teams. Then repeat your statement Collingwood had more quality than us missing with a straight face.
Have you seen how pendles and Howe have been playing this year?
They also had hill and mcreery out who are big players for them.

fair enough I forgot Hill and McReery. But the only player they missed who is now a marquee level player at his absolute best is DeGoey. We didn't even have a choice who we picked this game. It was the 23 who played + Blight and Koschitzke, that was all we had available. And like I said, around at least 8 players would be replaced from yesterday's Richmond team if our whole list w=as fully fit and conditioned. And there are some very strong players amongst them, Lynch, Taranto, Campbell, Lalor for a start. I would back Gibcus to be one of our better players as soon as he is AFL ready as well.

The point is, we had 25 players to pick from. There is not a snowflake's chance that team we fielded yesterday was anywhere near the best team we can paddock when all our players are up and running.

No, I meant are you kidding that we need to search for a tall? We just drafted 3 of them.

They'll take time. No other options with the list we have.
Kicking for goals is a knack, half of the time it can't be taught. and half of the time its between the ears.

Daicos a pleasure to watch for Tiger supporters. His zero tackles minimal pressure and wandering around looking for cheapies on his own was a principal reason we were able to stroll the ball from one of the ground to the other regularly and beat the line despite missing Lynch, Lalor, Ralphsmith, Dow, Taranto, McAuliffe, Campbell, Lefau from our likely best team and having several others unavailable. In fact we were down to almost zero selection choice, with just 2 fully fit and conditioned players missing out, both fringe key position players. Sonsie, Ross and Hopper were able to pick up possessions at will.

Richmond have failed to kick half their opponent's score 8 times this season. But when faced with a ladder leading team desperate for a big percentage booster to stave off the likes of Geelong for a top 2 berth, despite having so many players out and conditions not being ideal, we got plenty of action going back the other way on them because they think Nick Daycare getting 40 soft possessions is the most important thing for them right now.

He’s a damaging player who knows he’s better receiving the ball instead of getting the hardball. When he gets the ball he uses it so well. Our boys in the (22-28yo range) should aim to and practice to have the precision he does.

Having said that, Miller has the kicking ability of daicos. He’s grown so much this year.

Our future is very bright and very exciting.

Yes that’s fair enough.
I’ll agree with the majority of that

Miller can’t do it under pressure like daicos. He’s come a long way but still has some aspects to work on.

how was my posts bollocks ?

1) Lynch is past his prime....fact.
2) Our tall forwards cannot convert. fact.
3) We DO need to find a tall who can convert. Absence is no excuse for complacency.....

My point, can you imagine how we would go with a young JACK R ?
Faul, Armstrong and Simms have played a handful of games in their first year. Give them time, all look promising.
Jack Reiwoldt played 8 games for 7 goals in his first year of AFL.

dont get me wrong here, i Like our young players, Not sure they're meant to play forwards, WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY.

Miller is a game breaker, his kicks out of defense are amazing, we have another two who are similar.

I have to say, when gibcus is back we are going to have one classy defensive setup.

what some here dont understand is that Daicos plays like Dusty, high damage and amazing use of the football.

Did we miss TT in the centre yesterday? nope. we need to wake up a bit.

Daicos was the difference, he is a very good player and a pleasure to watch.

I’m confident TAJ will become a player like him.

Loving MRJ you can see oppo players are now worrying about his presence.

Proud of the boys.
Taj is Daicos with a 🍆

Jumps higher, wins harder ball
Just as agile

Tresize looks miles better on the wing than Ralph. I wouldn’t play Ralph until he learns how to move the ball on quicker. Hes far to slow and predictable
Hugo is just too soft

Refuses to tackle or win any sort of 1 on 1 contest

Hope he hardens up but not looking good atm

No doubt his running and offensive stuff is great
