Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

How many premierships?

Really? Premierships are ****ing hard to win.

Most years you basically throw a blanket over the top 4 and whoever has the most luck with injuries, fixture & form wins the prize.

Hinkley did well to put Port in a position to have success multiple times, imo he didn't have the list to romp one in. The only year they were good enough imo was 2020, but Richmond were on a mission.

Mate if we’re hanging in there and we have. NFI we really need u in there or what’s the point might as well watch grass grow
Think you’ve replied to the wrong post ;)

I was on the “Voss out” side of the debate, but people writing off next season already need to pull their heads in. They haven’t just pulled this decision out of their backsides. Maybe relax, and be aware that you may not be the know-all you think you are
We are set to lose TDK, JSOS, potentially one of Curnow, Walsh or McKay.

That sure doesn’t scream great 2026 incoming

You're missing a year.

2022. Good start. Horrible finish
2023. Horrible start. Great finish.
2024. Good start. Horrible finish.
2025. Horrible start. Even more Horrible finish.

We've been absolutely terrible for almost 18 months. I don't know what the club thinks is going to change rd 1 next year.

We've kicked the can down the road I think. :(
What could change is we actually have a fit list going into next year .
Hasn't happened for years but who knows .
Getting a handle on our injuries to atleast league average would go a long way to improving our consistency .

Injuries don’t explain half of our performances this season.

Last season maybe but even then the lack of proper system was glaring

Maybe Wright doesn't rate players who crack the sh**s and want to leave when they don't get their way? Addition by subtraction to get buy-in from the entire playing group, rather than a few high quality players upset and moody ruining the culture?

I don't have a stance on the matter, just offering an idea on how Wright may view it all.
You can have the best coaches, the most highly-rated assistants and all the top draft picks in the world … but if the players are conditional, comfortable at 90pc and flaky physically and mentally you can’t and won’t win sht.

I had tipped over into get rid of Voss camp. But if Wright has opened all the closets and decided he and list management should stay, I’m happy, let’s get at it. Gives me some confidence it’s not all doom and gloom.
That's the thing.

If GW is coming in and wanting to clean a bunch of people out, but endorses Voss, that says something. Hopefully in a good way.

I wonder if Butters might want to come along with Hinkley

I have a Port supporting mate who's been saying to me all year that Butters and Hinkley are both strong chances to be at Carlton next year. I have no idea where he has been getting that information and I have chosen not to believe it all year because with Butters I thought it fanciful and with Hinkley I didn't want to believe. But the Hinkley part at least seems to have some legs.

Man oh man I dunno about Voss staying. Players seem absolutely checked out, surely a new voice is needed?

If most of our assistants are gone but Voss stays I can live with that. But little to no changes going into the 2026 season? Disaster.

Or as I have repeatedly said, its some of the players that need to go first.

Walsh, JSOS, Charlie, Acres and whoever else just requested a trade

Ill Miss You GIF

Good. The list needs to be shaken up.

They did the thing...

Public declaration of support is a huge red flag that signals the certain doom of a coaching tenure. Interesting they stated he's safe for his 2026 contract because it's going to be harder to walk back when (yes, when) they move him on.

More interesting that the club email was anonymous - not from RP or GW or Cook. But stating Wright has actively recommended Voss to stay on is either lip service OR maybe he believes the problems really are 'everyone but Voss'.

I’d say the following line is pretty clear:

“Graham and Michael share a clear and aligned view on the opportunities to improve football performance.  “

That’s good enough for me.

Let’s hope it all has legs would be a great addition to the midfield

Or third option, the rumours about players “checking out” were made up by people with an axe to grind at Voss?
