It's such a very Adelaide (the city) thing to feel like you have a right to a finals ticket because you're a season ticket holder. Many take it to another level and think It's terribly unfair they don't get to sit in 'their seat'.

That’s complete bullshit.

Many franchises in US sports, including NBA and MLB, give season ticket holders first dibs on their usual seats or at least favoured access to the post-season.

You have to pay of course, but you get the option.

There’s nothing “Adelaide” about the expectation of season-ticket holders getting priority access.

Is that a big out?

I wouldn't think it's a big problem for Hawks....is it? I wouldn't know him if I fell over him hahaha
They played 4 talls for a while and dropped Mitch Lewis to play 3 last round. He'll come back in and they'll stay the same.

Lewis and Dear similar IMO, both capable of doing some damage but not elite.

I think It's great 3 gamers have the same access as season ticket holders. I wouldn’t be surprised if the club have gone this way to try and bring some fresh blood into the ground. Plenty of stale season ticket holders.

Not really this is a pretty common thing amongst most major sports. In the PL season ticket holders get first acces too CL games and cup games.

I might tie it to some attendance metrics (as in, you have to actually use your membership to get the chance at a finals ticket).

Couldn't give a shit about what goes on overseas.

Many can't afford, or can't fit season tickets into their lives. I was a season ticket holder for over 15 years befor this year, so speaking from the perspective of season ticket holder as well.

Sick of the stale as piss season ticket holders.

It just seems insane to me that you can support the club all year then have to go through such an ordeal to get tickets to the matches that actually matter.

Also Collingwood had WAY too many fans there on Friday night. WTF is that.

There’s always going to be an ordeal when you’ve got 150k members sharing 50k tickets. Our ticket holding members alone would exhaust supply.

Promise I'm not stalking you.

The 36ers offer a similar deal here, though I assume the NBL lets the home club manage seating allocations for their Playoffs (and you're less likely to have people travel for NBL finals).

Nah, it’s a reasonable expectation. You don’t treat your members like this.

3 gamers are members. They are always counted in membership numbers, can't then say to them at finals time they're not really members. Everyone knows Gold membership is for potential GFs.

An issue the club has had over the years is limited available tickets due to a huge % being taken up by season ticket holders who hold them for years, often not even going.

It's been less of an issue in recent times, but anything that helps bring fresh fans through the gates I'll support.

He’s capable of taking a few marks, but is usually the one subbed out.

I know it's all the AFL but 'open slather for finals' is straight dumb. You want your fans there, get a home final.

Crows members should've got 24 hours access first, with some pissy allocation for Pies cheer squad. Like actual home games.

Imagine being Bombers vs Pies home final and it's at the Pies home ground and 70,000 Pies fans. Just a stupid system.

That’s absurd. It’s a final, not an extra home and away game. How precious do you need to be to worry about an evenish crowd distribution. Talk about loser mentality.

But that would result in away finals having equivalent restrictions on our members. Finals are a blank stadium, I don’t understand what’s inherently wrong with that.
