Scott won't, but more importantly we need Smith's head dialled in on the day.
You say this every week.
I think Baz has been dialled in all season.

I wouldn't worry, if anything he seems to play better in these scenarios.Scott won't, but more importantly we need Smith's head dialled in on the day.
If you want a much more extreme and recent example, Jon Jones. In America such characters are more commonplace and accepted. In interviews athletes actually trash talk each other and their level of respect for their adoring fans, media, adversaries etc isn't something we could ever deal with.I wouldn't worry, if anything he seems to play better in these scenarios.
Part of me wonders if he's got a bit of Jordan in him, who used to make an enemy for the sake of it just to motivate himself. If he couldn't do that, he'd just make one up.
Not for one second am I saying that's good behaviour (it sounds a bit psychotic tbh) but if it's his way of keeping himself driven, then so be it.
Indeed. If someone charted Baz's coaches votes vs public indiscretions, I think you'd see an extreme positive correlation. In fact I don't think we could handle him getting any more dialled in unless we want him to end up the GOAT.You say this every week.

Smith does have to adapt to being an Australian athlete though - our culture is different in so many ways concerning public figures - to save himself some trouble. It may spark him in a combative way, but he's also had mental health issues and surely calmer seas would help him work through those.

He then went on to say the AFL threw the umpire under the bus by saying it shouldn't have been paid. I do agree with him generally about this - the AFL should be standing by their umpires a lot more and not reacting to every media request for 'does the AFL sanction this or that decision?'
I called this last week with him skipping the captain's run yet again.True.
He's a different cat - excuse the pun - and it's hard to know what motivates him, let alone anyone else.
It just seems like a complete overreaction, which raises some questions. According to the photographer Duncan was on the table prior to Smith and there were no problems with photos being taken.
Apparently he claimed an invasion of privacy - at a session open to the media and treatment undertaken in full view thereof.
That said, she claims this isn't the first time he's abused her. So either there's a backstory or he is triggered.
Baz has shown that he is completely dialled in Backed Danger from day one. Is 100% committed to doing everything he can for the team.Scott won't, but more importantly we need Smith's head dialled in on the day.

There's clearly an agreement in place with him and Scott to shun him from the media. Even the Cats social media rarely posts about him at training.
Egotistical, insecure, or just plain weird...whatever the reasons are, that's what it looks like, and seeing as this has happened before, I imagine the photographer in question has breached that agreement.
It doesn't excuse him from acting like a dickhead, particularly in an intimidating nature as a male professional athlete approaching an older woman...but I would highly doubt that this just happened out of the blue.
I think it’s pretty clear that the club as a whole regards the media as a bit of a nuisance.
Scott was fuming a few weeks ago about that footage of him and Baz chatting at training being broadcast.
You could even point to us continuing to publish the most vague injury list in the league, and the occasional late changes. Scott has even mocked people who get angry about these things.
Anecdotally, our media department has long been regarded as one of the most challenging for journos to work with.
In that sense Baz has found the perfect home for him and vice versa.
Regarding the incident today, clearly Baz shouldn’t have reacted that way and there’s no benefit in bringing negative PR the club’s way in the middle of the finals.
It’s also completely overblown because it’s Bailey Smith, and because anything he does on or off-field gets clicks and engagement which is the media wants.
They all know the media is going to be there watching and recording, so how do they get offended and annoyed when the media release and discuss what they see?
if they want to train and meet in an Area 51 then keep the media out
Re: the training footage Scott was unhappy, I’ve never seen footage like that with a conversation clearly audible broadcast before. I think it was an invasion of privacy, and all it will do is push clubs between offering the media the bare minimum if they aren’t already.
Bailey shouldn’t have been surprised by being photographed today and his reaction was poor. But I don’t see how this over the top media coverage is helping anyone. It’s more likely to lead to media having less access to training sessions and/or Bailey doing his own program away from media which ultimately costs media the clicks and engagement they are chasing.
Main board (and Jackflash) gone rabid.I think it’s pretty clear that the club as a whole regards the media as a bit of a nuisance.

To be fair, most of the Main Board posters making a fuss are well known Cats haters and a 'Collingwood supporter' who seems suspiciously like yet another alt of nuffnuff....Main board (and Jackflash) gone rabid.
From being a distraction for the PF to leadership group need to consider dropping him to what does Morris finance think about it all.
Scotty will not give a shit. He has well known disdain for media at training.
That woman in pink was way over the top tooTrue, just stating what I heard on this crap show after 360.
Love this explanation from Daniel Hoyne on how flexible we are, how we ran 11 players through defence and attack, and how that allows us the play a tagger without breaking down our system.
Hope the ump learns from this, does some more training, and comes back able to know the difference between solid contact and a flop.In some good news, the dhead umpire trying to gift Bris a win has been axed.
Hopefully never officiates a final ever again.
A number of Brisbane players pushed Zac Guthrie after the second free. If he had thrown himself to the ground would Geelong have been gifted a three goal advantage?Lethal was on AFL360 last night trying to justify the umpiring decisions. He’s in the tiny minority. No conflict of interest at all.![]()
