Ugly: paid $150 for 3 game membership just so I could get guaranteed finals tickets then add $100 per final and $250 on food. I spent $600 primarily just to see those 2 finals.

When the proper stuff starts, the real clubs get going. We are a laughing stock.

Did we? Murray spent 4 weeks in the SANFL until Butts got injured. We chose the incumbent at every opportunity.

Murray was always viewed as the better backman for our game plan. The only reason Butts played this season is because Murray was injured. Butts' injury came at a time when Murray was close enough to form that he could simply retake his place in the team.

5 games all up. Butter chicken / coke / naan is $33 then add a couple of cokes that's $50 a game.

EDIT: I used the 3 game membership but wouldn't have bought it had we not been in a position to host a final so all of the costs associated with going are due to my desire to see those 2 finals.

I braced myself before the game for the loss so losing wasn't unexpected but the flaccid effort certainly was.
Such a poor finals campaign. Players embarressed themselves and the club.
Change is inevitable.

Elephant in the room but surely we've got to be disappointed with our conditioning for finals. We need a better coach that trusts his playing list enough to rotate players. I place most of the blame on Nicks who once said he'd "select the same team every week" if he could. He had ample opportunity to rest players and it was really only Walker that got time off.

Clearly we saw the chance of a top 4 (then top 2) finish and abandoned development in favour of attempting to snatch a premiership this year. Hard to blame them given how even the top 8 is. Now that it has backfired it would have been nice had we not taken our eye off the long term goal.

Our ruckman. Lucky we have 3 more years of his shit.
Our tall forwards (excluding Thilthorpe) who play more like small forwards.

Straight sets without even a bit of fight.

Positivity warriors will cry about colds and the flu and Rankine but we were disgustingly bad this finals series.

Thilthope, Worrell are A graders now, Very impressed with Curtin. Dawson a gun u guys had a great season and took great strides despite the ending.

Reakn your maybe two solids mids short… hopefully Draper comes on. I dunno his form this year but I recall Curtin was very poor last year and clicked this year and hopefully same as Draper. And reakn you need a consistent line breaking defender like Impey. Get those and you’ll be back in the top 4 very soon!! Well done!!

The sentiment is appreciated but we're all pretty gutted right now. It was a better year than 2024, but it still ended horribly.

I personally would have preferred we snuck into the finals and went out like Freo or GWS. What actually happened was terrible.

I said at the start of the season that it was time he changed his vocation from using his giant frame to using his giant brain for a living.

He looks almost comedic out there. Maybe he would have fitted in well in the '80s as a big lumbering ruckman with zero foot skills, but not in 2025.

I think this is another indictment on the coaches. We never actually made a decision.

Murray started the season because Butts was injured. Butts only came in once Murray got injured. Butts kept his place until he got injured. Murray kept his spot.

We didn’t make a hard call on Butts/Murray and just played the incumbent.

I thought Butts and Murray were interchangeable - turns out we need Butts, and Keane/Murray are the like for like.
